I really wanted this place to be good, alas it is mired by a litany of fundamental errors. Antipasti are microwaved and salted by a heavy hand. Secondi courses arrive before primi and are almost exclusively microwaved, served neither cold nor hot, But tepid. Primi arrive and taste of artificial jarred sauce. Finally there is some reprieve with the fritturra (served last as it may be the only portion of the meal cooked to order) the freshness of the seafood is beyond mention. A melancholic experience.
EDIT: in response to the owner, I appreciate that labour intensive dishes like meatballs must be prepared in advance (I have managed restaurants for over a decade) I find that the results are much more palatable if said dishes are reheated to order in a pot on the hob, microwaves are notoriously inefficient at evenly heating dense materials such as meatballs, the outer crust becoming dry, whilst the inside stays tepid. This is also contradictory to good hygiene practices as the cooked meat will spend less time in the temperature 'danger zone' which can cause food poisoning. It is not just the fact that a microwave has been used, but that it has been placed at the very forefront of the restaurant in full view of the clientele. I would say sir that any passion you had for serving high quality 'typical regional fare' disappeared years ago, I am sorry that you are so devoid of passion...
Read moreWe came in at 21:30 after a long day of traveling very ready for some authentic Napoli cooking. My husband and I had been dreaming about gnocchi all day, and we were very excited to find this place around the corner from our airbnb. When we ordered our dinner we were offered a bunch of antipasto plates to start with, and agreed to the mozzarella. We were brought all kinds of eggplant that we thought must be complementary since we might be their last table of the night, but then after sitting there for 1 hour+ we never received our dinners. We were fully embracing the “slow food mentality” but were shocked to learn that our pastas were just completely forgotten about. We were 1 of 3 tables in there and the other two tables received their food in a timely manner and left before we realized we were just never going to get our dinners. We ordered house wine, calamari, gnocchi, and arribiata but the only thing we got was calamari and wine and we were still charged 46euros. Don’t get me wrong, the calamari was delicious but beware when...
Read moreNo hate towards the people running the place but a restaurant should not use a microwave, period. We could see the kitchen and how the microwave(s) are being used to reheat the meals. Pasta is not fresh (the dry kind you use at home, frozen gnocchi). It didn't seem that "fresh ingredients" were used at all. I ate here so you didn't have to. You're welcome. Update after owners' comment: NO SELF RESPECTED CHEF WOULD HAVE A MICROWAVE IN HIS KITCHEN. Your pasta isn't fresh mate you are using the dry 500gm bagged pasta that a supermarket sells for 1€. And the money comment?? It now seems that you respond to everyone else who leaves you an honest review something related to money to explain yourself. I didn't ask you for credit, I never asked you to give me free food or anything whatsoever. Don't be that low, man. Respect...
