I haven’t had a server more rude than this in a long time.
We arrived when the restaurant was full, so we waited at the door. No acknowledgement of any kind by the server, who was a lady walking around inside. She was the only server, but there are only 9 or so tables in the small space so she definitely saw us since she walked by to various tables.
When a table left, the bus boy cleaned it and motioned us to sit. Once we were ready to order, we waited. …and waited, and waited. So we raised our hand for a few minutes straight, while the lady continued to walk to other tables and ignore us for some reason.
Then the table next to us got a new party. Finally, the bus boy saw our raised hand came over, and I asked him to call the lady over. He did, we saw. And then she proceeded to take the order of the table next to us, who sat down more than 10 minutes after we did. They even looked at us apologetically.
Finally, after putting in that table’s order, she came to us. So she clearly knew we were waiting.
I don’t understand why she was somehow prejudiced to ignore us, but I was about to just leave. And maybe I should have - the pizza honestly wasn’t that great. My pizza had mushrooms were canned and flavorless, and chewy thick dough that I didn’t end up finishing. We also had a variation of diavola that came with eggplant, and it was slightly better but still nowhere near as flavorful as other spots we tried in Naples.
Don’t bother coming here. There are so many other spots with better food...
Read moreDuring a cruise stop in Napoli, my family wandered the streets in search of great pizza. My sister saw that this place had really good reviews, so we stopped in… as someone mentioned, it’s not a quick & easy walk (from port). We hunted this place down! And I know this little local restaurant was not expecting a party of 10! But they accommodated us as best as possible.
It’s a small, quaint pizzeria, and they managed to squeeze all 10 of us right down the middle of the restaurant. As others have mentioned, their English is very limited, but we tried our best Italian and I feel they appreciated the effort.
Our favorite pizza was the pesto one (listed under “Special Pizzas”). My photos here include a variety that we had but not all the dishes we ordered. Everyone enjoyed their pizza! We also had the arancino and crocchè apps - tasty and not greasy at all! My sister left in amazement of our total… so affordable! Great value for some of the best pizza we’ve ever had!
If you’re willing to make the trek (on foot), don’t miss out on...
Read moreWhile this place might be a true pizzeria gem, my experience left me with mixed feelings.
Pros: Authentic Ambiance: The small, bustling atmosphere exuded an authentic pizzeria vibe, creating a cozy and lively setting. Popular Spot: The fact that the place was super full suggests it's a popular choice, indicating a strong local following.
Cons: Heavy Pizza: Unfortunately, the pizza didn't meet my expectations. It felt excessively heavy, possibly due to an overwhelming amount of olive oil or a similar ingredient. Limited Space: The small size of the establishment might contribute to the crowded feel, making it less suitable for those seeking a more relaxed dining experience.
In conclusion, while the restaurant boasts an authentic atmosphere and local popularity, the heavy pizza and limited space may not cater to everyone's taste or preference for a more comfortable...
