It’s taken me a while to decide whether to leave a review, but the service we received was the rudest I’ve ever encountered. I’d been to Attanasio twice before this occasion and enjoyed the food immensely. I’ve also recommended the pizzeria to several friends.
We took a visiting friend there and duly waited in line. We were told fifteen minutes, but we’ve been living in Napoli for over a year so we guessed it would be between 30-45 minutes. After 30 minutes I popped in to check how far down we were, I was told we’d be next. A group of 3 who arrived after us were taken in. I asked again and was told “you’re next”. Again, a group of 3 who arrived after us had been taken in. I asked to check the list and they’d scored out my name, hence why we hadn’t been called. No apology or acknowledgement that they had made a mistake. They took us in (ten mins later, which takes us up to over an hour) and sat us at a terrible table.
The bad service didn’t stop there. It took ages to order, we were told something had sold out, but we saw other (new) tables being served the dish (Zeppoline) we were told was sold out. I ordered ham and Mozzarella and the guys, pizza. My dish arrived promptly, but we had to ask three times about the pizza, half an hour between getting my dish and the pizza arriving.
When it came to settling the bill, I expressed my disappointment. Still no apology, therefore I told them I wasn’t willing to pay full price, their response “it’s Naples, you have to wait for pizza”. Despite the catalogue of errors, they were unwilling to budge on the bill. Eventually I deducted the service myself and only paid for the food and drinks.
Incredibly rude, they treated me and my friends like ignorant, demanding customers when they were in the...
Read moreAttanasio Pizzeria, nestled in the heart of Napoli, offers an authentic taste of the city’s rich pizza heritage. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the warm, bustling atmosphere typical of a true Neapolitan pizzeria. The crust, perfectly charred and soft, strikes a balance between crispy and chewy, while the ingredients are fresh and flavorful—local mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and a touch of olive oil that brings everything together.
The Margherita pizza here is a standout, with its simple yet refined flavors that highlight the quality of the ingredients. The dough is a perfect example of the Neapolitan technique, and the thin, tender crust gives way to a delicious, airy bite. If you’re in the mood for something more adventurous, the various topping combinations are also worth exploring, each offering a unique twist without ever compromising the authenticity of the classic Neapolitan style.
The service is friendly and quick, and the prices are reasonable considering the quality and location. Whether you’re a pizza aficionado or a first-time visitor to Napoli, Attanasio is a must-visit spot for a true taste of the city’s...
Read moreVery bad service, terrible smell on the 2nd floor, but good pizza
It all started with the fact that we were sited on the 2nd floor in the room with terrible smell (I guess they had problems with canalization). When we asked to move to a different room where they had several free tables waiter refused, because they only had tables for 4 there (3 of which were empty) and we were 6. Since waiter didn’t want to move the tables or chairs we suggested that we split between two of those, waiter didn’t let us do that either.
Food was ordered, 2 pizzas arrived instantly, but it took them almost an hour to bring other 4. We inquired several times where is our food (people from nearby tables managed to order, eat, pay and leave and we were still waiting), waiter was very rude.
When pizzas finally arrived 1 hour later, waiter just dropped it on the table not even in front of me but on my cutlery (so it almost fell) and left without a word.
Pizzas were nice, but atmosphere and service ruined the whole...
