Pizzeria D'Angeli — Restaurant in Naples

One of the worst restaurants i have ever been in, i could not believe the service, It starts when we site up in a table of 4, we were 3 persons and one of us put his backpack in a chair, then one of the waiters just come and throw our backpack in the ground and explain nothing for us or offer another place for the bag. We understand that it might someone needed a chair. After that the waiter took the orders and we asked for 1 water cup in order to drink (we had cold water with us, the waiter brought us 3 cups and another one come to him and starts complaining why he gave us the cups, and he just took it back to the restaurant. We askerd him why did you took it back and he just ignored us and gone. After that we asted another waiter for cups and he bought it to us. The order took long time to arrived and it was really really a regular and basic pizza nothing special about it. After that we tried to have an espresso, we called the waiters he was staring at us and he refused to come and he just told his friend to check what we want, after a while he comes and tild us that we don't serve espresso. We asked for the bill then. It was 37 euros, and the waiter took a tip. After we left i checked the bill and i was surprised that they charged me 6 euros for cups, when i onley asked for 1. If you charges for cup why you complaining about serving it? I had the feeling they are feeding us for free, Sur a greedy and unprofessional service, I would recommend to wait for 2h line in Da'mlchele and get supper special pizza with a kind, respected and professional service and pay more and tip more than have a free meal in this catastrophic restaurant. Right after paying, the server tells us the waiting time is about 5-10 min (alright perfect). So we wait at least 15 min before asking about our order since we hadn’t gotten anything yet. (Of course, we realize it’s quite busy and crowded at lunch since it’s summer so we decide to be patient, but still !!!). However, we kept seeing servers serving around plenty of pizzas and meals to the clients seated inside.

We ended up asking 5 times for our pizzas and they kept ignoring us. The server kept brushing us aside and adding waiting time.

We ended up waiting 30 minutes outside in the heat. spoiler alert they hadn’t started preparing anything from our order after all this time.

After a final complain, we ended up with 4 WET identical pizzas (we ordered 2 different types, with one more expensive than the other…. so we did NOT get what we ordered) You could tell these pizzas had been cooked 3 min after our final request in a rush.

As a sum up : you are being ignored if you order to takeout (clients inside are a priority you’re not) you’ll have to wait God knows how long until maybe they start considering cooking your order pizzas and orders are not matching what you paid for bad experience also due to servers’ rude attitudes

Food was good, with meals appropriately priced. Brought to our table reasonably quickly after ordering. House white wine was average in taste for this type of restaurant, but priced a bit high. Beer same. Service was okay, but the big tell was witnessing a staff member finishing a bottle of water(?) left behind by departing guests in full view of clientele. Makes one wonder about their general hygiene practices. We were told tap water was not available, so had to order pricy bottled in spite of having already ordered wine and beer. Upon presenting the bill, our waiter “suggested” a tip had not been included in the total. On examination, there was an unexpected “coperto” of 4 euro for which nothing extra was received. I found this surprising as our experience has been that a cover charge may be expected if we had only ordered drinks and were tying up seats. But for having a full meal with drinks? Came across as opportunistic at best. May be needless to say, but coperto was paid to cover that “suggested” tip. A couple of other questionable occurrences during our visit left us thinking we would not be back. Perhaps locals are treated differently here.
