Trattoria Scialapopolo — Restaurant in Naples

This restaurant deserves two visits. The first time you go, have lunch here. Order more than you imagine you would normally eat. Not because the portions are small (far from it), but because everyone at the table will probably want to sample off of everybody else's plates. And it gives the wizards in the kitchen a chance to show off how they can whip up a variety of dishes for one table. None of that guilting everybody into ordering the same thing.

When you go back for dinner, ask for a table inside. You will have to double benefit of air-conditioning and a homier dining experience, like being behind the scenes. The friendliness of the waiters and their lively banter with the kitchen staff is a much better sound backdrop than the unfortunate incessant traffic (not the restaurant's fault, of course!) It's phenomenal how they keep smiles on their faces while keeping the place humming.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meals (pasta e fagioli took first prize!) here and felt like we were appreciated as customers. We can't wait...

if you’re on a trip and only in napoli for a few days, you will 100% regret eating here. there are hundreds of better places within a 100m radius.

i’m not sure why this restaurant has such good reviews because the food is terrible.

first, we waited over an hour for our food. when it finally came, i received the wrong thing. i began to eat it anyways because i was so sick of waiting.

after we had eaten a few bites, a waitress PICKED UP THE FOOD AND DROPPED IT ON ANOTHER TABLE. disgusting.

when i finally got my food, my grilled swordfish was extremely fishy and gross.

then, i ordered something for takeaway because i was, of course, still hungry. and it looked absolutely foul. it’s pictured with this review for anyone who would like to see.

"Un’ esperienza che ti resta nel cuore… e sulle papille gustative per sempre!" Ma che ve lo dico a fare… se state leggendo questa recensione, smettete di cercare altri posti e prenotate qui, subito! Siamo nel cuore pulsante dei Quartieri Spagnoli, dove ogni vicolo racconta una storia, ogni balcone canta una canzone, e ogni piatto.. beh, ogni piatto è poesia pura! La trattoria è una perla rara, un angolo di Napoli autentica dove si mangia, si ride e ci si sente a casa ancor prima di sedersi. L’ambiente è accogliente, caloroso, con quel mix perfetto di semplicità e cura nei dettagli che ti fa pensare: "Ah, ma questa è proprio l’essenza della città!" Il servizio? Che ve lo dico a fare! SUPERLATIVO. Un’ ospitalità magica, familiare, di quelle che ti fanno sentire coccolato senza essere invadenti, disponibili in tutto, sempre con un sorriso, una battuta pronta, e un’attenzione da far invidia ai ristoranti stellati. E ora passiamo alla parte seria: il cibo. Io ancora sogno la linguina alla Luciana.. UNA LINGUINA CHE PARLA! Un profumo da far girare la testa, un sapore che ti fa chiudere gli occhi al primo boccone. E poi… rullo di tamburi… un polpo intero nel piatto, signore e signori! Non uno spizzico, non un tentacolino decorativo: un vero polpo intero che sembrava uscito direttamente dalle braccia affettuose di una nonna di mare! Tenerissimo, saporito, un capolavoro. Il secondo di pesce? Freschissimo, preparato con amore e maestria. Qui il mare non si assaggia, si sente proprio tutto, dal primo all’ultimo boccone. È uno di quei posti che solo a pensarci ti viene fame e voglia di tornarci. E infatti… CI TORNERÒ!! Complimenti a tutto lo staff, dalla cucina al servizio: portate avanti questa magia, perché fate felici le persone. E Napoli, con posti così, continua a essere la città più bella del mondo...
