Hong Kong Sushi & Ristorante Cinese — Restaurant in Palermo

I flew in to Palermo and had been going all day long. My friend highly recommended I try this place out. It was a Monday night so I walk in and there are only two tables occupied and another one paying. I see no hostess and just a man sitting behind a bar in the middle of the restaurant. He barely says buona sera then goes to clear out the table's check and walks right by me for the second time as I'm standing at the front of the restaurant (pregnant) with my 5 year old daughter. There are at least 8 tables empty and this guy acts as if I'm invisible. I have NEVER been so rudely ignored at ANY restaurant in my life. I eat out at least 7+ times per week and I've been in Italy since 2003 in MANY cities. I asked the guy if they are open or not just trying to figure out what's going on. He could've cared less if I was there or not. I was very disappointed as I wanted to eat Chinese on this night, and my daughter started crying when I said we had to leave. There is NO WAY I would ever patronize this establishment. I NEVER write reviews unless it is VERY bad or VERY good. I never ate the food nor will I ever find out. I wouldn't eat here if it was the only restaurant in town. This guy does not know customer service or he is racist to women...

Mio malgrado devo fare una bruttissima recensione. Ho ordinato in questo locale davvero tantissime volte, sempre stati gentili e cordiali, ho sempre lasciato la mancia ai fattorini fatta esclusione per questa volta. Ho ordinato alle 11 di mattina (per le 20) una box da 25 euro, sapendo già dei 5 euro di consegna. Alle 20 non arriva nulla, alle 20.20 non arriva nulla e chiamo per capire e vengo ignorata. Alle 20.30 richiamo, nuovamente ignorata decido di inviare un messaggio su whatsapp, contatto del quale la mattina stessa ho usufruito per l’ordinazione e mi hanno risposto tempestivamente. Alle 20.35 richiamo e ancora nulla, al che chiamo al numero fisso; risponde una signorina alla quale cerco di spiegare con tutta la serenità il mio problema e mi sento rispondere “ma lei l’ordine lo vuole o no?” Ancora un po’ scioccata rispiego con parole più semplici chiedendo perché non abbiano avvisato e mi risponde “il ragazzo è uscito 15/20 minuti fa è normale che non sia arrivato” facendo due conti lui era uscito dal locale intorno alle 20.15/20, cosa inaccettabile. Ci accordiamo per non pagare la consegna. Il fattorino è arrivato alle 21.10, con un’ora e 10 di ritardo. Guardando l’ordine mi accorgo che è stato preparato alle 18.35 quindi la parte fredda era tutta appiccicosa e senza sapore, la parte calda (involtini e Tempura) era gommosa e particolarmente insapore. Per non parlare delle salse che chiuse in scatolini di cartone ed avvolti in della pellicola erano fuoruscite e, quel poco rimasto, sapeva di cartone. Non credo di ordinare nuovamente, proprio perché mi sono sentita mancata di rispetto e di aver pagato una cena buttata...

Love the restaurant. The food is fresh and tasty. The environment is clean and tidy. Very friendly and efficient service. The manager is a very knowledgeable gentleman. To suit our taste, he offered a dish off the menu. The restaurant especially has an early opening hour for dinner. During our five day stay in Palermo, we had four dinners there.
