Iâve spent a couple of days in Palermo and stumbled upon this restaurant by pure chance. To be honest I was surprised by their menu since they do have most of the regular pizzaâs that youâll find on most menuâs in the city. But even those pizzaâs contain a special touch of fresh ingredients that youâd rarely find on other menuâs.
But thatâs not all, the pizza menu extends itself with combinationâs I would never think off that set the bar for pizza to a new high. (Think of a pizza with three different tomatoes, with excellent pieces of tuna and crunchy capers that finds a perfect balace inbetween sweet, salt and a touch of sour)
The staff speaks excellent english and will help you with any question you have which is quite nice as a non native speaker.
The ambiance of the restaurant itself is a delight, and the design choices that were made in the interoir were perfect.
Honestly Iâd recommend this restaurant to anyone and wish I found it way earlier during my vacation. Save yourself the time in finding the perfect place to have dinner because you just found...
Read moreStumbled across this beautiful gem on our first day in Palermo. I stopped in to have a drink and cool off on their patio. The espresso martini was excellent. My fiance and I were later looking for a spot for dinner and I mentioned I liked the vibe of Il Cappero so we went back and were extremely happy. Gasparro made some excellent suggestions and we devoured it all. The whole staff there is warm, professional and on the ball - which is hard to find these days. We tried a number of dishes (arancinis - squid ink + fish; fried baccala; fried dough topped with mortadella + pistachio crema; pastas + pizza pizza pizza!) - the pizza is probably the best we have had in Sicily and we were also vacationing throughout last summer too so we have tried alot of pizza! As a result, we returned for lunch the next day with the rest of our family and twice again on our 3rd and sadly last day in Palermo. (That's 5 visits in 3 days if you're counting! đ) Highly highly recommend - no notes! Thank you Gasparro and team for everything and making Palermo...
Read moreWonderful recommendation of quiet, restaurant just off street between historic and city center. Drinks / wine were perfectly picked for our tastes (and Angelo, the welcoming "boss," made us great spicy margaritas - really, one of our favorites). The menu is huge. We loved the lightly fried cod as appetizer - fresh and melts in your mouth, thickly sliced seared tuna tartare - won't want to miss if you love tuna The fresh Pasta and Clams were so tasty. The pizzas were excellent and everyone happy. Many other pasta, beef, seafood choices. But the genuine staff made the dinner. Alessandro greeted us with a big smile and was very attentive, Sophia enthusiasticly made sure we.well tacken caere of and Giorgio introduced a spirit that made us want to stay the night! Go for the great food and quiet setting, stay there for the unique taste of palermo with wonderful people. Thank you Angelo for fostering a caring atmosphere!...
