We loved everything about this place! We stood on the corner of the neighbor while checking reviews and theirs beat out the neighboring restaurants. It was clear to see why as we were seated by Stanley Tucci… lol, he looks remarkably like Tucci and was warm and inviting. My husband was happy to have someone to practice his Italian with him. Everyone that walked by seemed to know our host and just so friendly. He mentioned that by the next time we visit we are friends… This is our last night in Palermo and we got the awesome meal we hoped for in that they had caprese and bruschetta— my favorite dishes right now. Husband loves spaghetti as it’s his favorite comfort food… when he was done he said that he believes it was his favorite yet.
For me, the bruschetta was seriously the best I have had as it was so flavorful and the bread was crisped perfectly and lots of basil which I LOVED! The caprese was also very good and that cheese.. omg it was amazing with the bruschetta and the caprese.
We were in the water most of the day at Mondello and this was just the best ending to an amazing day. I ate so much of the bruschetta and caprese I couldn’t eat my pasta dish but will Add to review tomorrow :)
We are hoping to swing by in the morning on our way to the airport for their croissants and coffee, as well as, the company- wonderful...
Read moreThe owner creates a welcoming atmosphere, making you feel at home and completely comfortable. Not only does he explain the dishes in detail, but he is also always ready for a conversation. Additionally, his favorite team is “Aquile” (Palermo F.C.), which plays in Serie B, and he touches his chest, showing the love he has for them.
The food was delicious, starting with the starter that combined eggplant, olives, and capers. The wine, with a slightly acidic yet light touch on the palate, was the perfect complement.
The main dishes were served with a lot of care: the fish (a house recommendation, perfect for celiacs like me) and the grilled squid, both exquisite!
The restaurant offers an authentic Sicilian experience, with local dishes and products. The decor makes you feel like you’re in a typical Sicilian home, with traditional tablecloths that capture the essence of the region. The lady took the time to explain everything to us—very kind!
Tip: Try the limoncello from the house....
Read moreAt the beginning everything was friendly and nice. We were 7 people eating different dishes but in two dishes we found hairs (long, disgusting). One in the pizza promo (on top) and another one in the pasta (mixed in the sauce). It was clear that it wasn't from the waitress and the owner, but rather the kitchen, however, they made us feel bad for pointing it out. It gave the impression of a place that doesn't take criticism and doesn't want to make things better if they did something wrong. I was expecting for them to at least say they would check with the kitchen staff but they didn't care at all.
Also, that day everything tasted like sugar. The bread from the pizza was too sweet and the sauce too. Not a great meal. Sorry but I can't recommend it. You should avoid it if possible. Leaving a photo of the place so you don't get confused with the...
