Macaone Ristorante — Restaurant in Perugia

Macaone is housed in an old building in aver nice area of Perugia historical city centre and the restaurant' setting, although it can be regarded as somehow controversial in the coupling of old and new designs, is pleasant and comfortable. However, unfortunately nothing else of our experience was at par: the staff is kind, prompt and friendly but there are ample room for a global improvement, considering also that the toilets were not at an acceptable level of cleanness and supply. The worse part is though the food, which for a restaurant is indeed quite a problem! The menu is very limited and while our appetizer (tuna tartare) was good, our main course (scampi risotto), that involved some actual cooking was practically inedible: badly cooked, full of shells, without any real taste. We discovered by chance this new restaurant which we felt is a jewel from many different aspects (food, service, atmosphere) in Perugia. Excellent recipes, perfectly prepared, and presented, using fresh ingredients, beautiful aromas, tasty sauce, very well balanced and everything done the right way. We loved the ceviche, the lentil soup with smoked fish, the filetto di cervo and the mille-feuille. Very good wine! We learnt that the restaurant opened a couple of weeks ago and we wish very good luck hoping to return sooner...

Ce soir je suis allée manger au Macaone avec mon copain. J'ai trouvé la nourriture d'un grand raffinement. De l'utilisation de produits typiques d'excellente qualité, au placage, en passant par la créativité mise dans ces produits, tout était d'une excellente créativité. J'ai vraiment apprécié le personnel extrêmement sympathique et serviable. des personnes bien formées qui sont capables non seulement d'illustrer les plats mais aussi de vous transporter dans une expérience culinaire ombrienne revisitée qui met en valeur la culture de cette région de manière innovante. J'ai été enchanté tant par le menu que par la carte des vins, qui accompagnaient le repas et le mettaient en valeur à merveille. Je le recommande à tous les palais, pour les adultes et les enfants.
