The gnocchi were a bit like rubber, the pesto quite flavourless with too little cheese and pine nuts, the cuisson of the beef inconsistent (one part rare, the other well done), the beef was tough, contained too much sinew and was not seasoned (salt and pepper) and the hazelnuts could hardly be called "toasted". In all honesty: the true star of my dish was the cherry tomato.
EDIT: let's get something straight: I typed exactly this review in Google translate and showed it to your waiter (the blonde, nervous man), who read it, simply said "Okay" and nothing more, so don't say that I should have said something because I very clearly did. He read exactly the above remarks / review, said "Okay", went away and came back with the bill. Someone certainly is to blame because you didn't hear what I said here and that's him. When I complain to the waiter, it's not my responsibility to find the owner.
Furthermore, not both plates "came back clean": only mine, and that's because I was starving and wanted to try each bite, to give your food a chance. My partner ate about half of her food, but it was too sticky to enjoy. Don't start...
Read moreIt's a nice and cozy place to eat lunch/dinner but if I were to characterize it in one word, it's average compared to others in the neighbourhood.
We went for dinner one evening and tried a few menu items, some out of curiosity and others well known. I had Ravioli in shrimp ragu and grilled octopus with pine seeds on ruccola bed and my wife had Tagliata di manzo with ruccola and parmesan. For my own taste, I would have showered the ravioli with parmesan because the shrimp ragu is a bit too strong in flavor, I would have also added lemon to the octopus because it had a fishy aroma and too much salt and the veal steak was unseasoned, but well cooked.
Overall the food wasn't bad, my own taste might not be on par with local recipes, but I wouldn't repeat this experience any time soon.
PS: house wine sucks, might as well get a bottle if you want to...
Read moreEnjoyed a meal here. Nice to sit outside. Food is generally ok. Service depends on which waitress attends to you - hit or miss. One waitress was good; the other was useless. On our second visit, three of us were made to squeeze onto a small table for two - utterly ridiculous! My grilled vegetable dish was cold with only some of the vegetables grilled. Others fared better with their...
