Casa Nahuatl — Restaurant in Pisa

Being here in Italy 🇮🇹and tasting all the italian food has been amazing and walking to the tower, I heard some latin music coming from somewhere. I followed the sound and it was so nice to find this place on Via Santa Maria. So, one of my favorite foods is Italian but so is Mexican! So if you want a little change and a little bit of Mexican🇲🇽 in Italy! 🤭 then, this is THE place to go! I got the "tacos al pastor", a "guarache", and the refried beans for appetizer with a cheese quesadilla and it was so delicious, the best quality Mexican food you can taste while in Italy! The flavors are very authentic! 😋 just in the second I took a bite and closed my eyes I was immediately taken to my travels of Mexico and felt like i was there again. The flavors transport you to those cobbled stone streets of Mexico much like the ones you see in Pisa! Also the service is very friendly and patient. The owner was walking around and even came over to talk to us and was very friendly, kind and her warm welcoming made us feel like at home! The ambiance was very happy and inviting! We would definitely come here again. 😃

Essere qui in Italia🇮🇹 e assaggiare tutto il cibo italiano è stato fantastico e camminare verso la torre, ho sentito della musica latina provenire da qualche parte. Ho seguito il suono ed è stato così bello trovare questo posto in Via Santa Maria. Quindi, uno dei miei cibi preferiti è l'italiano, ma lo è anche il messicano🇲🇽! Quindi se vuoi un po' di cambiamento e un po' di messicano in Italia! 🤭 allora, questo è IL posto dove andare! Ho preso i "tacos al pastor" e "guarache" e i fagioli fritti per antipasto con una quesadilla al formaggio ed era così delizioso, il cibo messicano della migliore qualità che puoi assaggiare mentre sei in Italia! I sapori sono molto autentici! 😋 solo nel secondo che ho dato un morso e ho chiuso gli occhi sono stato subito portato nei miei viaggi in Messico e mi sono sentito di nuovo lì. I sapori ti trasportano in quelle strade acciottolate del Messico molto simili a quelle che vedi a Pisa! Anche il servizio è molto cordiale e paziente. Il proprietario stava passeggiando ed è persino venuto a parlare con noi ed è stato molto gentile, cordialità e la sua calorosa accoglienza ci ha fatto sentire come a casa! L'atmosfera era molto felice e invitante! Torneremmo sicuramente di nuovo qui. 😃

Seguí el sonido y fue muy agradable encontrar este lugar en Via Santa Maria. Compré los "tacos al pastor", un "guarache" y los frijoles refritos como aperitivo con una quesadilla de queso y estaba tan delicioso, ¡la comida mexicana de mejor calidad que puedes probar en Italia! ¡Los sabores son muy auténticos! 😋 solo en el segundo que mordí y cerré los ojos, inmediatamente me llevaron a mis viajes por México y sentí que estaba allí nuevamente. ¡Los sabores te transportan a esas calles empedradas de México muy parecidas a las que ves en Pisa! Además, el servicio es muy amable y paciente. El propietario estaba caminando e incluso vino a hablar con nosotros y fue muy amable, amistosa y su cálida bienvenida nos hizo sentir como en casa. ¡El ambiente era muy alegre y acogedor! Definitivamente vendríamos aquí...

Important premise: I was born and raised in Mexico. I’ve been away from my country for almost 10 years. For the FIRST TIME, I had REAL and GREAT Mexican food in Italy.

Locals adore going to this place. We all know how picky the Italians can be with food. Well… they come here because food is AMAZING.

Just read the reviews folks. They are definitely not lying. People praise the “Margaritas”… Of course they do. They are made with Tequila of great quality.

Tortillas are made by hand, with the same flour we use in Mexico to make our own 🤤

Elyn, the gorgeous owner of this place, has put so much effort into this restaurant and the results are more than obvious. Even Mexican ambassadors here in Italy come to this place, because it’s that good.

Don’t get fooled by Tex-Mex or other south American dishes. Mexican cuisine is great for a reason.

If you cannot go to Mexico to eat our food, at least you can go to Casa Nahuatl. You...

While walking in Pisa, where all the restaurants were full, some tortilla smell struck me.

Walking a bit further, I figured that there was a Mexican restaurant and I would not have to wait for my food. So, as I had had enough of pizzas and so on, I decided to look at the menu. Lucky me, there was one of my favorite Mexican dish: mole. Then, I decided to give the place a chance... and that was the smartest move I could do during my stay in Tuscany.

If you want a break from the local gastronomy for one meal while you are in Pisa, this is definitely a great option. Same level as the Italian restaurants but different.

The owners are from Sinaloa and, as a Mexican gastronomy aficionado, I can tell that what I have was just great. In addition to that, the service is as good as the food.
