Olio e Parmigiano — Restaurant in Pisa

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Olio & Parmigiano, and it was nothing short of a disaster from start to finish. Upon entering the restaurant, we were immediately struck by the cold and unwelcoming atmosphere, largely due to an incredibly unfriendly and rude server. From the outset, it was clear that customer service was not a priority. The server's demeanor was brusque and dismissive, making us feel like an imposition rather than valued guests. Simple requests and inquiries about the menu were met with exasperated sighs and eye-rolls, creating an uncomfortable and unpleasant dining environment.

Hoping the food might redeem the experience, we were sorely mistaken. The dishes were mediocre at best, lacking any of the vibrant flavors or culinary finesse one would expect from a restaurant claiming to specialize in Italian cuisine. The pasta was overcooked and gummy, while the sauces were bland and uninspired, offering none of the rich, hearty flavors typically associated with Italian cooking. The presentation of the dishes was equally disappointing, with lackluster plating that did little to whet the appetite.

Our appetizers, meant to tantalize and set the stage for the meal, were equally underwhelming. The bruschetta was soggy, the tomatoes lacked freshness, and the supposed garlic infusion was virtually nonexistent. The main courses did not fare any better; the lasagna was a mushy, flavorless mess, and the seafood risotto was overcooked and rubbery, with a distinctly unpleasant fishy odor.

To add insult to injury, the portion sizes were inadequate given the exorbitant prices, making the entire experience feel like a complete rip-off. We left the restaurant still hungry and deeply dissatisfied. Despite its upscale appearance and marketing, Olio & Parmigiano failed to deliver on even the most basic aspects of a decent dining experience.

In summary, my visit to Olio & Parmigiano was an exercise in frustration and disappointment. The rude service coupled with the lackluster and poorly executed dishes make it a place I would strongly advise against. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that offer not only superior food but also a warm and inviting atmosphere. Someone from the restaurant is accusing us of refusing to pay, which is absolutely not true. We had questions about the bill. We were with a large group who can testify to the fact that this restaurant is lying simply because they cannot handle criticism. What rude and unprofessional people, truly pathetic. We recently had a very disappointing meal at Olio e Parmigiano. We were a large group seated in a dull, lifeless room with zero atmosphere. The pasta, although homemade, was honestly not very good. It lacked flavor and was a big letdown, especially considering it’s supposed to be the restaurant’s specialty. To make things worse, the owner was visibly grumpy and unwelcoming, which only added to the negative vibe and on top of all the other issues, we were hit with an absurd €10 'servizio' charge, just for the privilege of sitting at the table. Ridiculous. Overall, the combination of not so tasty food, poor service, and hidden fees left us all disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this...
