Pizzeria '89 — Restaurant in Pisa

The good: Pizza till late night. Prompt and helpful service. Nice location. You can sit outside on the Piazza. Prices are cheap. Good selection of craft beers.

The bad: Kitchen closes at 9:30. Pizzas are not Neapolitan. The look good on the pictures, but the farine they use is bad. Taste like stale bread. Not the thin crispy type. Toppings are so la la. Mixed bag. It defeats the hunger if this is what you are looking for. Taste is mediocre. Even the hot oil they have is not worth it. Desserts are okayish. It’s a 2,5 stars for me.

We are a family of 5 and prior to eating here we were at another place which served only pasta. We had pasta and then came here for pizza. The waiter told us that they were going to charge us if we didn't order 4 pizza's. He then went inside to check with his colleagues and came back to us and told us that it was fine and that we didn't have to worry. Once we ordered and asked for the bill there was a service charge on the bill which was €10. I saw this on the bill and i was annoyed by the fact that the water said we wouldn't get charged. So far the best pizza I had in Italy! The dough alone was so tasty, that I would eat that even without ingredients. Craft beer was a pleasant bonus. The whole square on which the pizzeria has its outdoor dining was very vibrant.
