Ristorante Tora Tora — Restaurant in Pisa

I almost never enter a restaurant without doing deep research 😅, so I am thankfull yo all my predecessors for their reviews 👏. I saw good reviews for Tora Tora, and I was happy to see that it’s open on January 1st for lunch 😇. I’ll give 5 stars in all categories because the food was great, the atmosphere was perfect (it is the first day of the new year, after all 😅) and the ladies that served were very nice. We started with the Chestnut Soup with Saint Jacques, and it was amazing. Then we had a Tagliata in lardo with potatoes and chimichurri. After 13 days in Florence with plenty of Costoletta and Fiorentina, I can say this was different and very good. Just a note: the portions might seem smaller only because we decided to share the dish, but they are actually normal-sized 😅! We finished with a cheesecake with chestnut and kaki coulis - amazing. As our time in Italy/Pisa was limited we wanted to make our dinner special. We found this place on google, when we first walked over to look at the menu, the waiter (who was walking out with another tables food) greeted us with the warmest hello. The menu looked delicious and a little different/interesting and my mouth watered whilst reading it. Our waiter, Luca, was the kindest soul and was just so lovely. He explained the dishes we had questions about with great detail and gave amazing suggestions in such a way where we could make up our minds depending on our taste and mood (even with the wine). The food that came was delicious. We ordered the tuna tartare to start and then Pici Cacio e Pepe and a Ravioli with fish/scallops and their tiramisu. Everything we had was amazing and we had the best evening. The star of the show was really our waiter, he really made us feel welcome and at home. This is a great spot for great food with amazing service so definitely try this...

I usually don't like leaving bad reviews and I'm not doing this to put the restaurant out of business but hopefully the chef will take my concerns under consideration. My family and I chose this restaurant because of the good reviews and we enjoyed the atmosphere and the services was great but when our four entrees came to the table they were very disappointing. Maybe our experience was an off day for the chief but this was the first time in 30+ years of traveling the world that I have ever sent a dish back, let alone four dishes. I hope that the chef and the staff will take this review as a opportunity to better the dining experience and execution of each dish and not just a negative comment. I wish you the best for in...
