I cannot complain about the quality of food or the variety. Both were good. However, the service was downright hostile. We were pressured into choosing the restaurant by the waitress (typical for a touristy area, so no big deal). We were a party of five, so the waitress put 2 tables together. But as soon as the manager saw this and even though the restaurant was fairly empty, he started yelling at her that we had better order 5 pizzas since we were taking up two tables (I speak Italian so I understood what he was saying). The waitress tried to get us to order five pizzas. I told her our youngest wasn’t eating, but we would order 3-4 pizzas. She seemed happy and said she just needed to know we weren’t going to order just one pizza. Meanwhile the manager was stalking back and forth and casting us all dirty looks. We ended up ordering 3 pizzas, which left our waitress very unhappy and scowling at us for the rest of the meal. She got my wife’s drink order wrong and when we asked her to fix it, she kept acting as if she thought we wanted to pay for another drink, so we gave up. She only brought out 2 sets of silverware for the entire table, and no plates until we were halfway done. Overall it was just a lousy way to end our day...

Reading the reviews, it seems people either have an amazing experience or burnt pizza. We had amazing pizza! It was r favorite during r trip to Italy so perhaps the cook time was spot on for r order. The crust was just perfect & puffed up with a chew but deliciousness that was delish. The rest of the crust was nice and thin with tasty toppings/sauce. They also bring out a bit of bread as part of the per person charge with 2 tasty dipping sauces. Pricing was very reasonable. We sat inside, which is quite small. The booth on the back right is not comfy at all so either sit on the left side or outside. We ended up moving to the left side and enjoyed r experience. Also, recommend making a reservation if you're there during tourist season. I assumed we'd have no problem getting a table, but they were annoyed that we just showed up. Service is definitely crabby. The main guy who runs the pizza oven was offended, I think, when I asked if they offer salad or anything else. Nope - it's pizza here (no gf or other options)....and drinks of course. The great news is that their pizza & Chianti were fantastic and a highlight of r night in Pisa. Would...

Pizza with secret ingredient 🐛

Ordered pizza funghi - it was ok. Dough tasted nice but the mushrooms had little flavour, ham tasted like cheap supermarket ham. Half way through my pizza I discovered a caterpillar on my pizza (assume from the basil, it was still alive and crawling). I pointed this out to the waiter. He was neither shocked nor surprised. Attitude: What’s the big deal?

Odd questions and statements from the waiter: When did you find it? Maybe I can give a discount, well, what do you want, a free pizza? We use fresh and organic produce - this happens!

An insect inside somebody’s food doesn’t underline your fresh ingredients but a lack of hygiene. Wash your salad! But if you think this advertises your establishment, you shouldn’t have a problem with this review. In fact, put it in the menu!

No, I didn’t want a free pizza, I wanted a tasty pizza without creepy crawlers - I got neither.

When did I find it? Why does that matter? You think I saw it at the beginning and kept it crawling while I eat the pizza?

I deducted 1 star for the green crawler. I got the pizza half...

Everything was some of the highest quality I’ve eaten. Because my dad is a chef my family are very into good food. We were all blown away. They grow fresh basil, use high quality DOP San Marzano tomatoes, the dough is amazing, and the pizzas are prepared in the traditional neoplolitan way. The service: while the wait staff was kind and did a very good job, the owner was great at showmanship. He took pictures for us, gave us the story of why he opened the place and posed for a photo Incredible atmosphere, where I come from it is very uncommon to eat outside a restaurant at night, but it is very common and done well here, the red overhead gives a very nice aesthetic, there is also a fan that makes it so you still feel the heat of Italy without dripping sweat It averaged about €14 a pizza, where I come from that won’t even get you a low quality take-away pizza Highly suggest going here if you come to Pisa

After profound research we have decided to eat our first pizza in Tuscany in Quarto D'ora Italiano. Not only we were encouraged by the perfect localization - around 2 minutes on foot from Piazza dei Miracoli, but also the information about the ingredients of the pizza dough (less calories, more digestible) was really important. And we found it perfect. Their pizza was phenomenal so we have decided to visit Quarto D'ora Italiano one more time before leaving Pisa. I especially recommend choosing the special types of pizza - the one with buffata in particular. Great ingredients, rich flavors - you want be disappointed. Apart from the wonderful food experience, it's worth mentioning that the staff was very friendly and helpful.
