Tourist trap! We ordered a club sandwich which normally consists of: lettuce, tomato, chicken, mayo and bacon. What we got was: lettuce, tomato and carrot, on toast bread that was as stale as possible. When we asked the waiter what was up, he insisted that this was a club sandwich, and when we later got to talk to what we assume was the owner, she told us that there had been a missunderstanding in the kitchen, and they thought we wanted a vegitarian sandwich (not sure how the interpreted that, but whatever), she then told us that we'd get a discount... that was 6 euro in total, for 4 sandwiches that each cost 10 euros. The sanwiches themselves were dry as a desert, no matter how much mayo we put in them (as there wasn't any to begin with). And lastly the ambiance was also terrible, the music was blaring out at a volume that almost hurt, and made it nearly impossible for us to talk with each other. Overall, will NOT be coming back here. Below is a picture of the sandwich (Note: this one in particular does not have any tomatoes, because of alegies)

**Attention: they don't provide a bill with the detailed prices** When you check out, they add the prices from their head silently to the calculator so expect some fraud here :) Food was okay-sh. The orange juice was spread on the glass from the outside so that made it hard to hold the glass and it was served kinda warm. The Teramessu was served with one side frozen and one side melted, I don't know why. The taste was good. Staff were nice and friendly and they charged us more than the real prices when we checked out🤣 we got back and asked for recalculating and then, we discovered that they added 9 euros in the first calculation. I'm 99% sure that it was intentional. Even in the second calculation they added 1 euro more than the price that you can find on the menu. So be careful. I won't come again and I don't recommend it.

This place is amazing if you are a fan of african (nigerian) food. The 2 hostess welcomed us in the restaurant and then the owner came to greet us and took our order. The place is spacious, with a bar and few tables to sit inside, as well as a nice outdoor terace, besides the street. The service was very fast, I dont think we waited for the food more than 10 minutes. We ordered bitterleaf soup with assorted beef and jollof rice with chicken and fried plantain. Everything was very tasty, big portions at a very fair price. The hostess was very attentive and always came to check on us in case we needed anything. There were no hidden costs on our bill and we would defintelly recommend this place for all the african food lovers, if you are in Rome. Would surely come back again!

Avoid! Do not trust fake good reviews - if you check the names, most of them come from Nigerians, probably their friends. Real reviews all mention the same: low quality frozen food and hidden charges. Also, the owners use the same reply all over: food was fresh/customers mistreated the staff/this is a revenge. Who do you trust?

They say you should never eat in empty restaurants — and they are right.

We stopped there because it looked like the only restaurant nearby serving ā€žproperā€ breakfast, not only croissants.

ā€žEnglish breakfastā€ cost 12 EUR and was served 38 minutes after placing an order. It looked nothing like the English: no beans, no bacon, 2 small pieces of low-quality sausage, 4 sorry pieces of toast, some half-fried eggs, a few grilled vegetables, jam and butter. 12 EUR for that is a total rip off.

We also had a tiramisu for 7 or 8 EUR, and it was very substandard.

The ambiance inside was bad, the TV was super loud and when asked, a staff member graciously lowered the volume by 3 bars.

I understand this is African restaurant so perhaps they should focus on serving African food rather than trying to rip off tourists. You’re giving Africans and African food a bad name and the shame is on you.

Edit: please stop copying and pasting the same lies under every review. Why would I even visit your ā€žrestaurantā€ if I had a...

We went to this place because of the African food and the positive reviews. In the end, we cannot understand where these positive reviews come from. The service is very attentive and the boss gave us a very friendly and warm welcome. That was really very positive and we would like to thank you for that. The quality of the food is poor and you can get fresher food in the supermarket around the corner. The food ha nothing to do with African food that i try before in other places. The ordered grilled fish was definitely not freshly prepared and the chicken drum were very dry and tasteless. You could kill people with this hard pizza. Be careful, it is always a problem when a restaurant offers all kinds of different dishes from all over the world. Nobody can do this in good quality. How can something like that be fresh? The food had already been reheated and microwaved several times. Finaly the boss charged us with an additional fee for the service that was nowhere on the ordering-card. Instead of normal water, the children were asked for coca-cola because this can be charged with 5 euros per 250ml. I definitely won't go there again and wouldn't recommend...

I came to Rome as a tourist from UK in the summer of August 2023. I became home sick for African food, specifically nigerian food.

I googled nigerian food near me and Cavour Kitchen came up.

I trecked about 10 minutes from my hotel at the city centre and was delighted to meet this lady, Sandra in the restaurant. Sandra is a nigerian.

Their menu list was very comprehensive. I was surprised to see such a nice place located in the very heart of Rome, in europe selling all arrays of nigerian food.

It was very homely, scerene, neat and hygienic.

Dinning room was very well organised. Temperature was cool, with calm background music.

The staff at the restaurant was very pleasant. She was very professionally dressed.

I ate hot pounded yam with egusi soup and assorted goat meat. I also had catfish peppersoup for appetizer.

I had a naturally prepared cold orange juice.

Next day, I also ordered for lunch (Rice, plantain and catfish peppersoup), which was promptly delivered to me at my hotel room.

Their food is very affordable and competitive.

I highly recommend Cavour Kitchen without...
