Avoid! Do not trust fake good reviews - if you check the names, most of them come from Nigerians, probably their friends. Real reviews all mention the same: low quality frozen food and hidden charges. Also, the owners use the same reply all over: food was fresh/customers mistreated the staff/this is a revenge. Who do you trust?
They say you should never eat in empty restaurants ā and they are right.
We stopped there because it looked like the only restaurant nearby serving āproperā breakfast, not only croissants.
āEnglish breakfastā cost 12 EUR and was served 38 minutes after placing an order. It looked nothing like the English: no beans, no bacon, 2 small pieces of low-quality sausage, 4 sorry pieces of toast, some half-fried eggs, a few grilled vegetables, jam and butter. 12 EUR for that is a total rip off.
We also had a tiramisu for 7 or 8 EUR, and it was very substandard.
The ambiance inside was bad, the TV was super loud and when asked, a staff member graciously lowered the volume by 3 bars.
I understand this is African restaurant so perhaps they should focus on serving African food rather than trying to rip off tourists. Youāre giving Africans and African food a bad name and the shame is on you.
Edit: please stop copying and pasting the same lies under every review. Why would I even visit your ārestaurantā if I had a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went to this place because of the African food and the positive reviews. In the end, we cannot understand where these positive reviews come from. The service is very attentive and the boss gave us a very friendly and warm welcome. That was really very positive and we would like to thank you for that. The quality of the food is poor and you can get fresher food in the supermarket around the corner. The food ha nothing to do with African food that i try before in other places. The ordered grilled fish was definitely not freshly prepared and the chicken drum were very dry and tasteless. You could kill people with this hard pizza. Be careful, it is always a problem when a restaurant offers all kinds of different dishes from all over the world. Nobody can do this in good quality. How can something like that be fresh? The food had already been reheated and microwaved several times. Finaly the boss charged us with an additional fee for the service that was nowhere on the ordering-card. Instead of normal water, the children were asked for coca-cola because this can be charged with 5 euros per 250ml. I definitely won't go there again and wouldn't recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came to Rome as a tourist from UK in the summer of August 2023. I became home sick for African food, specifically nigerian food.
I googled nigerian food near me and Cavour Kitchen came up.
I trecked about 10 minutes from my hotel at the city centre and was delighted to meet this lady, Sandra in the restaurant. Sandra is a nigerian.
Their menu list was very comprehensive. I was surprised to see such a nice place located in the very heart of Rome, in europe selling all arrays of nigerian food.
It was very homely, scerene, neat and hygienic.
Dinning room was very well organised. Temperature was cool, with calm background music.
The staff at the restaurant was very pleasant. She was very professionally dressed.
I ate hot pounded yam with egusi soup and assorted goat meat. I also had catfish peppersoup for appetizer.
I had a naturally prepared cold orange juice.
Next day, I also ordered for lunch (Rice, plantain and catfish peppersoup), which was promptly delivered to me at my hotel room.
Their food is very affordable and competitive.
I highly recommend Cavour Kitchen without...
