The restaurant ranks in the top 5 of all restaurants in Rome and it is clear why! After a long day of sightseeing all you want to do is enjoy delicious food paired with a delicious glass of wine.
I asked Google for a recommendation and also the manager at the hotel and both ascertained Alessio was the place to enjoy a delicious meal
I found them to be outstanding I did make a second trip before I left Rome.
At Allesios's I uncovered a gem of a restaurant because it offers the absolute best and most delicious food which if you allow them they will pair with a perfect glass of wine which is long, significant, and perfect
Daniel the owner and Joaquim sure made my experience memorable ascertaining my dining experience was perfect.
I truly enjoyed the appetizer which consisted of fresh bass and salmon atop a fresh bed of arugula paired with a delicious fresh cucumber sauce that did bring out the taste of the fresh fish
On the second visit I ordered it again and added the artichoke appetizer famous in Rome both days I enjoyed spicy pasta made per my request. The first day it was made ala arabiatta the second I'd say was pasta ala portofino, both days it was paired with delicious wine from the vineyards of Italy, it sure was exquisite I had two glasses each day.
The owner also offered a glass of after dinner wine courtesy of the house. The first day it was a lemon wine the second a shot of Jefferson one of the absolute best in the world, thank you so incredibly Daniel!!!
I recommend this restaurant for the delicious fresh food, the impressive wine list, the superb level of service, their attention to detail, their friendly courteous, helpful, disposition, their generosity, all the attention to detail, not to mention the ambiance which is a hint of traditional, old world, cozy, warm, and inviting! All of it sure made this an unbelievable above average exceptional unforgettable ....perfeft...
Read moreWe had a very unfortunate dining experience here on our last night in Rome, primarily due to the terrible service from our waiter. We arrived and were seated in the outdoor setting. Our waiter came with the wine menu and then left us for over 10 minutes without a food menu, to the point I had to go and ask him for the food menu which he was a bit dismissive about. He then came back with the food menu and took our wine order, which he got incorrect as we asked for a dry white wine and he came back with red. He then took another 20 minutes to come to our table to take our food order, after us trying to get his attention whilst he went to other tables in his area as well as spending prolonged periods at the till typing in the screen. He eventually took our food order 35 minutes into our stay. Our food didn’t arrive for another 35 minutes, marking over an hour from when we arrived to when we finally ate our dinner. The mains were good but the artichoke starter was AWFUL and tasted burnt. My partner took one bite and couldn’t continue. When he collected our plates he saw the barely eaten starter but didn’t ask us how it was or if there was an issue with it. We then quickly asked for the bill and left without an apology for how late his order or the food arrived. We never complain at restaurants but on this occasion the poor service ruined our dinner experience, to the point we were about to pay for our drinks and walk out when our dinner hadn’t yet arrived, only for it to miraculously arrive as we were grabbing our coats. The table next to us actually did walk out early after we overheard their frustrations over none being served. And the table opposite us received a meat dish with no knife and another order did not arrive with the others, all with the same waiter as us. A poor experience for us unfortunately for our last...
Read moreThe Boss and I spent the day walking Rome and taking in the sights and by the time we were ready to dine, we were done with the heat, the noise and the hustle of the city. We wanted a quiet dinner and Alessio Ristorante delivered. We were drawn in by the sunken dining area, as though transported to a cool, quiet yet cozy dining room away from the city. We were seated and brought bread and water and given space to decide on drinks. When communicating our drink choices, we were informed of the evening dinner special and decided to take them up on the offer. We started our meal with a ricotta and basil ravioli with a rich, fresh tomato sauce and followed it with the catch of the day, a beautiful sea bass. As we sipped our drinks, The Boss a Bellini, me a Hugo Spritz, we were presented with the whole baked sea bass to view and approve. It was then whisked away and plated with sliced, braised potatoes and cherry tomatoes with rosemary and onion. By far, the bass was the freshest most flavorful, moist fish I have ever consumed. As though it brought the Mediterranean Sea with it to the table. When finished, we enjoyed a limoncello apéritif, and left happy, full and feeling as though we had really experienced an authentic Italian meal.
Grazie mille,...
