Hi everyone!
I'm in Rome, enjoying to the full the Italian summer - there have been a couple of showers last week, though! In this post I would very much like to share with the readers of such reviews and also with those in love with nutritious tasty, traditional Italian food some of my impressions about this Alice Pizzeria on the corso Vittorio Emanuele II. I became a regular of 'Alice', to start with, for a couple of reasons. The pizza al taglio is excellent, still hot from the oven, plus there are some niceties made of rice combined with mozzarella and/or pommodoro, which are so tasty than one feels almost obliged to get a beer. Now, I must confess I'm not a fan of this drink, but considering the heat outside not to mention my choice of pizza with a hint of condiments, I think they go together very well. We're on holiday, after all! The other reason I pay them a visit twice a day is the approach of the staff: business-like, but at the same time, and this is what I want to emphasize, very pleasant and mannered having always a nice little word for you and more than happy to oblige, be it about the choice of a pizza or road instructions or whatever else. I feel so relaxed when I enter and then seated at a little table and consuming my food, I can observe other tourists chatting happily to the personnel, that I conclude it's not just me feeling so nice in this corner. So, I wanted to share that with you, guys! Have a nice holiday!
P. S. It is self-understood I don't have any connection with any of the staff or owners of this...
Read moreTerrible Service Experience – Severely Affected My Impression of Rome
Today, I visited this restaurant intending to order some food. At first, a female staff member asked me to wait, which I fully understood as she was busy, so I patiently stayed in place. After a while, I gestured towards the pizza I wanted, as a foreign visitor unable to accurately name it in Italian.
To my shock, the staff member in front of me suddenly made a dismissive and rude “hand-swatting ”gesture!!!
I felt extremely disrespected and confused. I pointed out her inappropriate behavior, but she showed no sign of apology and continued to serve me with a cold and unfriendly attitude.
This kind of service greatly damaged my impression of Rome. As a tourist, I had hoped to feel welcomed and respected, but instead, I experienced disappointment and frustration.
I strongly suggest that the management properly train their staff in basic customer service and respect for all customers, especially visitors. With such a hostile attitude towards tourists, it is impossible for people to find joy in this beautiful city.
All the events I described can be verified through the store’s surveillance footage, and there is absolutely no discrepancy between what I stated and what...
Read moreThis place was okay when it came to pizza taste but what made it a horrible experience was the customer service. After having ordered our food the cashier told us they were getting ready to clean up but we could eat in for about 10 or so minutes, which not is not ideal but we just wanted a quick bite after a long day and were going to head out immediately. Mind you, there were people in the restaurant eating enjoying their food in no rush but we didn’t mind because they were probably there for a while so whatever… well as soon as I get my food, I don’t even get to the table and this lady was super rude and kicked us out before we were able to sit saying she’s cleaning now. I told her that the cashier told us that it was okay for 10 quick minutes but she said no and well we didn’t want to argue so we left. It was very rude, unprofessional and unwelcoming. Will not be visiting this establishment again. There’s many more better pizza places in Rome and with better service.
I was curious if this was a one off or if it was me and looked up the reviews and people have had similar horrible experiences with this one employee. I’m attaching a picture that I found in...
