This old style, elegant and family-led, cozy "chocolateria" is nestled mid way between Piazza Venezia and the Pantheon, beyond the crazy Via del Plebiscito; it takes you completely away from the hectic traffic and shows you the beauty of a family run business, based on tradition, since decades. All sorts of homemade chocolates, cookies and small sweets (perfect for a dinner present or giveaways!), this sight really makes you feel like a child in a toy shop! I give it a five-star vote, certainly for its quality; not for their attention to the customer, as it all appeared a bit "tired", with lack of primary dedication when entering the shop, although they revealed to be very gentle once engaged by my questions. Read moreMariondo & Gariglio is not just a chocolate shop – it’s a piece of living history. This refined boutique traces its origins back to the maître du chocolat Carlo Enrico Cuniberti, originally from Turin, whose vision and artistry laid the foundation for what remains one of Rome’s most elegant and authentic chocolate experiences. The craftsmanship is evident in every piece: rich, balanced flavors, perfectly tempered textures, and an aesthetic that honors both tradition and excellence. Whether you are sampling their pralines, ganaches, or signature assortments, each bite transports you to a world where quality and heritage come first. A must-visit for anyone who values true artisanal chocolate and the cultural blend of Piedmontese finesse and Roman soul. Bravo to Mariondo & Gariglio for keeping this delicious...

They even let my wife and I taste-test some of the pieces and did a beautiful job of gift wrapping the boxes. If you're looking for a classy, sweet present for that special someone or even your friends back home - this is a...
