The food was amazing and the service was great.
Though there were some stuff I did not understood. Like why should my server touch my serviette and put it on my lap? Apart that this is not hygienic, I did not even had 10 seconds after ordering to do that on my own.
I ordered the biggest menu, which was the 7 course. I eat a lot in fine dining restaurants so I know the is always the "greetings of the chef" and sometimes a last mini dessert extra. This time I got not only a greeting and the mini dessert, but also a whole extra course, as a gift. The problem was that exactly that course was bigger than the others and after that the last course before dessert, was even larger. So when the first dessert arrived, I was almost exploding, because I was full.

Read moreWould give six stars if possible. Interior was small and beautiful. We ordered the five course tasting menu and at least eight courses came out, including two desserts. The service was impeccable, our waiter was very attentive and the sommelier was good too. The focaccia bread was a serious standout, it was like eating a cloud dipped in rosemary, garlic and olive oil. As a bonus treat, we got to speak with the chef for a few minutes at the end of the meal.
This place is in the Michelin guide but they have no stars yet and it's a shame. They deserve at least one, if not two. I don't know if we'll be back in Rome after this trip but if so, we will be back to...
Read moreMy wife and kids went to Almato last night. What an amazing experience. Each course was meticulously prepared, the presentation was a work of art, the service was friendly and efficient with every dish timed perfectly.
We enjoyed the variety of the tasting menu. In all we tasted about a dozen different things in our 7 course tasting menu. Each was unique and delightful.
Our server helped us identify wine pairings that were both priced appropriately and complimented our food.
If we are ever back in Rome, we will visit Almato again. Eat there... you...
