We booked at Ciro as last minute resort as they were showing the football game. I was happy waiting for a menu for 45 minutes, but my kids and wife weren't. We asked for the food to come together (like any restaurant would do l), but it wasn't. I had to watch my daughter eat her Chicken dish, very dry and tasteless, Then my wife was served hers and it was even worse, My son ordered a pizza and it was ok, although the menu didn't specify cherry tomatoes on it, he ate only half of it; (He usually eats for 2) My pizza fritta was delicious, a shame, I had to eat on my own. To have company we ordered a portion of patatine, We got delivered 2, when I mentioned to the waiter he said that it was free (probably they were acknowledging the mess they had made so far) unfortunately I later realized that he had put it on our bill (+10€). The atmosphere was nice, typical Italian trattoria near the Spanish Steps. My overall experience was awful because of the service and most food. 1 course dinner for 4 (2 children 2 adults) 86€, quite expensive considering 2 pizza and 2 (very dry)...
Read moreA steak ended up at a cost of €75….on Ciro’s menu there is a picture of a beautifully roasted, carved piece of red meat. The menu has text in Italian and English on the left, pictures of some of the dishes on the right - it is not obvious which pictures relate to which text, and the description of the meat is sparse. ‘Fiorentina’, for example, is the name of the steak I choose. The others go with a steak higher up on the menu. However, my choice turns out to be a 1 kg piece of meat. The waiter does not make any guiding comments in relation to my order, and the only thing that appears on the menu is that ‘Fiorentina’ is paid per 100 grams. Which is not abnormal with a good steak. On the other hand, it is good practice for the waiter or the menu to point out that it is a roast rather than a steak, and that the meal is large enough for several people. Here we actually felt like slaves. The meal at Ciro ended up being the most...
Read moreIf you're looking for a traditional Roman pizza experience, Ciro Trattoria delivers in every way. The pizza was nothing short of amazing – that perfect crispy-yet-chewy crust you dream about, topped with rich tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and perfectly savory ham that made every bite unforgettable.
The mozzarella and ham combo, in particular, stood out. It was melt-in-your-mouth good, with a balance of creamy and salty that hit all the right notes.
But what really set this place apart was the service – warm, welcoming, and genuinely above and beyond. The staff made us feel like family from the moment we sat down. And as a sweet surprise to end the night, they treated us to a complimentary limoncello, which was such a thoughtful touch and the perfect way to wrap up the meal.
If you're in Rome, don’t miss this spot. Ciro Trattoria is the kind of place that makes you want to come back before...
