Really disappointing. We had high expectations, given the previous reviews, but were really disappointed by very slow service, some poor quality pizza toppings and no ice cream or sorbet left at dessert time.
We’d booked a table for 9:15 but didn’t get sat at our table until 9:25. By the time someone came to take our order (9:45) the table next to us (who arrived at the same time as us) already had their pizzas.
I’d ordered the carbonara pizza and, while the crust was delicious, the centre of the pizza was very oily due to the amount of fat that I was served, instead of the ‘the pork cheek’ I’d expected (see photos).
We finished our pizzas at around 10:15 but were only able to gain the waiter’s attention around 30 minutes later when I pushed my chair back from the table, effectively blocking the door.
We asked for dessert menus but were told there was no ice cream or sorbet left, so we left without.
Very disappointing evening. Would not recommend going...
Read moreI felt the service was so poor that it bordered on discrimination against Asians. The pizza and dessert were delicious, but the attitude of one particular staff member completely ruined the experience, which was truly disappointing.
We had clearly noted our gluten allergy as a special request when making the reservation. However, the moment we ordered gluten-free pasta and pizza, the staff looked annoyed, as if our request was an inconvenience. He changed the tapestry and table mat with a displeased attitude, and the service afterward was extremely disappointing.
We were confused, but another courteous staff member assisted us. The good reputation of the restaurant is probably thanks to that gentleman.
Overall, it was a terrible experience. I will never go back, and I definitely won’t recommend this place to...
Read moreAMAZING. Hands down the best restaurant I have ever been to in Italy! They have their own Sourdough starter on display from when they started to develop it and their own Gluten free dough mix which took them 11 years to develop. Everything on the Menu is available as standard or as gluten free, including fresh desserts. They have 2 kitchens to keep food separate from contamination and even give you a special placemat and different water glass so all staff know if there is an allergy. I have never felt so catered to in a restaurant and it was a wonderful joy to be able to share so many items with my wife on our visit. The staff are also impeccable with great English skills and very kind. The interior is lovely and the seats are very very comfortable. If you find yourself in Rome, head to Pizza in Trevi -...
