We went here seeing great reviews, however we were very much disappointed. The appetisers were great, however the service and one of the main meals left a lot to be desired. My spouse ordered the lasagna, which had been microwaved and was still frozen when served to her (we were told the food was fresh). When she asked if they could reheat it, they instead took 45 minutes to make a new one where they clearly fried the beef separately (and burned it) from the lasagna pasta. They assembled the lasagna with the burned ground beef and pasta, forgetting to add the sauce/gravy; so it was lasagna pasta on top of a pile of burned ground beef. Since we’d already waited nearly 2 hours, we just gave up. I also ordered a side salad, which they forgot, so when I mentioned it to our waitress she said “Oh. They never gave it to you?” Thirty minutes later I asked a food runner if I was going to get a salad; he mentioned he was unaware I’d ordered one and came back several minutes later with a chicken salad meal (thankfully they charged me just for the side salad, not a whole chicken salad).
I’d be cautious if considering dining here. There are several amazing locations in the area; I wouldn’t rank Quartino...
Read moreMy husband and I spent 2 weeks in Rome and really found a home at Quartino. Christian and his beautiful staff run a really unique and amazing business - if you love fine wine like I do, this is the place to go to try some incredible wines by the glass (things that are pretty unaffordable normally). Don’t miss the Sondraia (Bolgheri) and their champagne selection. There is a big list of numerous selections by the glass, all at great prices to try. On top of that, the selection by the bottle is immense and reasonably priced. And, you can make an evening of it, as this wine bar also has great food. Can’t recommend this place enough - they really made us feel so welcome, and in Rome where a lot of places seem to dislike tourists, it was really such a refreshing attitude all around. The vibes were high every night with a nice mix of locals and a few tourists here and there. Thank you Christian and everyone at Quartino for treating us like family and providing so many great evenings...
Read moreI came here for food. Apparently, they are famous for wine, and this review does not speak about wine.
Food wise,I ordered their classic, Amatriciana ,or pasta with tomato and bacon. Put it briefly, it does not satisfy my taste. Despite the plating, it comes with a strong pungent smell of cheese and not much else in terms of flavor. If you don't mind the cheese, you may like it more than I do. But overall, I find it not better than Costco canned tomato pasta sauce. Also,I ordered a bucket of bread, and it came completely untreated -- room temperature, not toasted or dipped with olive oil or anything. The only redeeming quality is that it is not expensive.
Are there other dishes that are good? I don't know, but I also lost my interest in trying. I must emphasize that drinks and wines might be quite a different story, given their walls of alcohol storage.
Hope...
