My wife found this place. Given its name I thought it might be very touristy. I was wrong. The first sign that we were in for some deliciousness was the complimentary olive oil. AMAZING!!! As were the multiple breads.
We started with a very simple Brie brûlée that was anything but. The Brie was slightly melted and topped with brown sugar. It was then covered with a red wine and sugar reduction and torched at the table. So simple. So delicious.
We then ordered the available everywhere carbonara with everything in it perfectly cooked and you could see the yellow of the egg yolk and taste it in the sauce.
We also ordered ricotta and lemon zest ravioli (not what it’s called on menu) topped with steak tartar (actually more coarsely chopped raw beef than tartar) that played perfectly against the ravioli.
We had a couple of glasses of local red wine which perfectly complemented everything and finished with house made limoncello that didn’t have any of the high alcohol and bitterness found in commercial brands
The food was amazing, but the true highlight was our server, Gabrielle. There nothing to say except that he was completely on point! Great knowledge. Not intrusive but always available and with a wonderful spirit
Highly HIGHLY recommend. Definitely ask...

The establishment exudes a warm and inviting ambiance, with its charming decor and soft lighting creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and comfortable. The culinary offerings were nothing short of exceptional; each dish was a testament to the rich flavors and traditions of Roman cuisine, presented with a contemporary flair.
However, our experience was somewhat marred by the service. Despite the restaurant not being at full capacity, we found ourselves waiting an inordinate amount of time to place our orders and receive our meals. On two occasions, we had to leave our table to seek assistance, only to find the waitstaff engaged with their mobile phones. This inattentiveness detracted from the otherwise delightful dining experience.
In summary, while Caligola Osteria Sincera offers an exquisite culinary journey in a beautiful setting, the service leaves room for improvement. With more attentive and professional staff, this restaurant has the potential to provide an outstanding dining experience that matches the quality of...
Read moreI don't understand what all the fuss is about at this restaurant, The restaurant is highly regarded and is also run that way from the outside. The prices and management are elegant, but the service is not. You have to make a reservation a few days in advance. We made a reservation by phone the same day. We made a reservation for 7:00 PM, when we arrived we were told that the table was only for an hour and a half. When we wanted to order dessert at 8:15 PM we were told that there was no time because the table was only until 8:30 PM, and if we wanted to order dessert then it was only to take with us. A restaurant that thinks so much about itself, it is appropriate that when diners arrive from outside and it is raining outside: Someone take the coats from the diners There should be more space for umbrellas There is one rack for all the coats of all the diners in the restaurant. A complete mess. Other than that the food is okay, nothing exceptional
Overall a very...
