I had a really bad experience here and some of the employees seem prejudice. First off, I am standing in line to order my food and the check out man who has tattoos was taking my drink order. I wanted to order some pastries, but I had a hard time pronouncing the items so he had me come over to the pastry area with him to point them out which caused me to be a little out of the line. When him and I got back to the line for me to pay, there was another customer standing where I was at and I said excuse me, but he refused to move. He then started yelling at me in Italian. Thankfully the cashier defended me and I paid. I then went over to get my coffee and the other Italian man with the hat and black curly hair and beard could not be bothered to even look at me when he took my receipt. They then gave me my coffee order and I was confused because I still didnāt have my pastry and everyone was ignoring me. So I decided to go over and stand near the pastry area to see if they would give it to me. I stood there for a good 3 minutes until the white/Italian woman came over to give me 1 of the 3 pastries I had ordered. She then walks away and the man who replaced her was the same man who couldnāt be bothered to even look at me. He then ask which other pastry I want and takes my receipt again. I point out which one I want and he takes the pastry out and gives it to another Italian woman who had just walked up behind me. The Italian woman looked at me and said āno give the pastry to her she was here firstā the man just says take it and she did. He then ask me again what I want and I show him. He grabs the pastry, puts it in a bag and literally slides the bag to me, squishing the pastries in the process. At this point I am very upset and I felt like I was being treated like a second class citizen. I go to sit down to drink my coffee and it is luke warm. Too upset to even go up there, my husband ends up asking for another drink for me. Once we were done eating, one of the other male waiters (I assume Indian) was going around cleaning every single table except ours. I try to stop him to ask if he could take ours too and he completely ignored us. The only other worker there was a black woman who was the one making the drinks and she looked up at me and saw that I was ignored and gave me an apologetic smile. Overall really really bad experience. Iāve never felt such cold energy in a place in my entire life and all I wanted was a cappuccino and a few croissants which were not good compared to what Iāve...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDuring my recent visit to Eataly located in Roma Termini Station, I had the pleasure of trying their orzo salad and tagliatelle in ragu, and I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and flavor of the dishes.
Orzo Salad The orzo salad was a delightful start to my meal. It was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced with a variety of textures and flavors. The orzo was cooked to perfection, maintaining a slight bite that contrasted nicely with the fresh vegetables and herbs. The dressing was light yet flavorful, enhancing the natural taste of the ingredients without overpowering them. This salad was a refreshing and satisfying choice, ideal for a light meal or as a starter.
Tagliatelle in Ragu The tagliatelle in ragu was an absolute highlight. The pasta was handmade, and you could taste the difference. It had a wonderful, chewy texture that paired beautifully with the rich and hearty ragu sauce. The ragu was deeply flavorful, with tender pieces of meat that melted in your mouth. It was seasoned perfectly, striking a harmonious balance between the acidity of the tomatoes and the richness of the meat. This dish was comforting and indulgent, capturing the essence of traditional Italian cuisine.
Ambiance and Service The ambiance at Eataly Roma Termini was surprisingly calm and relaxing, especially for a location within one of Romeās busiest train stations. Visiting at 6pm, I found it to be a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle outside. The service was attentive and friendly, with the staff being knowledgeable about the menu and making excellent recommendations. This added to the overall positive dining experience, making it a perfect spot to unwind with a good meal.
I have read some negative reviews about Eataly, and itās possible that these may have been during busier times when the ambiance could be less relaxed. However, my experience during a less crowded time was entirely positive.
In conclusion, Eataly at Roma Termini Station provided a memorable dining experience with its high-quality dishes and excellent service. The orzo salad and tagliatelle in ragu were both outstanding, showcasing the best of Italian culinary traditions. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a delicious meal in a convenient and surprisingly...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePathetic for Eataly of all places. Went here today with my husband for an early dinner and we sat in the restaurant. We ordered two apps and beer to start. The server asked if that was all and we said āfor now but we may order more food later.ā And were probably would have if the next 30 mins were a better experience. Our server asked if we would like water and I said āyes, tap water please.ā Our water and apps came. We started to eat our first app and eventually decided to wait on starting the second one until our beers came. Almost 30 mins in no one came with our drinks. Every time we tried to flag an employee down to get their attention and ask about our drinks they either walked right by or turned their heads away. And the place was almost empty! There were two women behind us and one older gentleman a few tables away. He came AFTER us and he had his beer and pasta, while we were still waiting for our drinks! We finally managed to get one personās attention and told her to hold off on our beer because we were going to leave. She walked away and we didnāt even get to ask for our bill. So naturally we had to wait. One of the other staff made eye contact with my husband more than once, and he was trying to signal that we wanted our bill. But the employee kept his head turned away from us. I got up, walked over to him and said āweād like our bill please.ā We finally got the bill. Now, I know itās common to see a service charge of approximately 2.50 euros per person, but 5.00 euros for tap water?! And when they asked us if we wanted water there was no indication that it was for a cost. For tap water, two suppli and one piece of fried zucchini we paid just over 20 euros. Eataly @ Termini Romaā¦you were such a disappointment. The only thing that bothers me more than the service we got was that we chose to spend time and money at this place vs one of the other incredible restaurants...
