When you get a glimpse of this restaurant it looks like any other local Indian restaurant on the streets of Rome but there are many faults that ruin the vibe. Firstable this is not a Indian cuisine it’s more of a bangledshi cuisine falsely advertised as an Indian one possibly because Indian cuisine is more popular, not a major setback but cuts out on authenticity and shows a less of a standard. Next up the food the main reason why you would head to a restaurant: The chicken curries were good in flavour, slightly on the oily side but everything else was absolutely even more horrendous and mediocre. The tandoori chicken looked deep fried (it was really greasy) than cooked in a tandoor, it tasted decent but again with the authenticity. The naan's didn’t look fresh and suspiciously looked like store brought and heated instead of made fresh, they also were the worst tasting naan I ever have had in a restaurant. The biryani was the worst of all, no flavour no aroma and just bland chicken and rice. I am really disappointed. Biryanis are usually supposed to have this unique flavour but this one again one of the worst biryanis I have ever tasted. And whoever made the chai and mango lassi clearly hasn’t had a chai or mango lassi in their life, overpriced for what you get in terms of quantity and quality and the chai tasted like it was made in boiled water and powdered milk, absolutely disgusting. To all tourists out there save your appetite and euros and I would highly not going here even if...
Read moreSometimes you get food at an unexpected place that too when you thought “it looks like very small and roadside restaurant, do they have even good food”. Yes, that was my thought before eating. Glad We were in Airbnb nearby Roma termini and this restaurant was in the same locality.
After a long tiring day (we cover 25km in a day normally), we wanted comfortable Indian food and we were on the way to one known restaurant. We saw this and not sure we should try this or not. We tried and now I can say, it was one of the best meal for the whole trip.
Small restaurant, not fancy but what matters is hygiene-food & service. We got all 3. We sit outside. We ordered so many things. After 10 days we were having an Indian meal and I wanted to eat everything (also the price was very reasonable, not 10-12 euros per dish, it was 5-6 euros with the best taste).
We ordered Chicken tikka masala, fish curry, Dal tadka, Rice and bread (roti/chapatti). My wife was like” are you sure you 'll finish everything?” At the end of the meal, I proved her wrong: P
Chicken tikka masala – the gravy was really great and tasty. It's not like usual tikka which you get in the USA or another restaurant. I never ate tikka masala tastier than this outside India. Dal tadka and the fish curry were equally good. Did I overeat, yes and by lots of margins?
Well, you have to try if...
Read moreThis is THE WORST restaurant I've ever been to: rude, unhygienic at its finest. The owner is rude and talked to us in condescending manner. I ordered Samosa, Naan and Vegetables. Within a couple of bites, the samosa felt like it was not fresh and probably 2 or 3 days stale. The vegetable was too oily. When I had a bite of naan it smelled so bad. I opened it just to find that there were traces of some white powder. In total, I did not eat this food at all. At last, I opened all nans and put tissue paper over vegetables so that this food is not served to the next unlucky person who comes to this place to eat. This place is no where near to 3.8 stars at the time of my writing, I highly doubt the credibility of these reviews and ratings.
Also, when we told the owner that we would like to pay by card, he insisted that we pay by cash and that his card reader was not functioning. He failed to mention this at the beginning. What if we didn't have cash...
