I stayed at the Hotel Valadier for the weekend and being a bit tired after a long day of walking I wanted to try the restaurant in first instance as a comfortable solution. To let you know that I got back also for the Sunday dinner, so two days in a row.
I have been reserved a table from the concierge team and went at the schedule time.
Wow, the view at dusk from the roof top is simply terrific and breathtaking and it gets better and better when the sun goes down and when you can see the lights on the Casina Valadier on the Pincio hill overlooking the restaurant and the city.
The service, from the greetings to paying the bill, is simply perfect. They will serve you at highest standards while being attentive but very discrete and if you want something peculiar they will advise you at their best.
The food. Where to start? it is simply perfect. from the bread (homenbaked and served jointly with onions focaccia, water bread sticks and EVO oil) to the dessert the food is amazing and terrific.
On Saturday I took the Lamb Carpaccio as a starter, the Seabass Ravioli as a main and the Seabass fillet as a fish dish... What can I say? Distinct flavors that amalgamated through the dinner in an excellent way. To finish a Vanilla Bavarese with pistachio and raspberry. To drink before the dinner the Hi-Res75 a gin & lemon cocktail and during the dinner a white wine from Castelli Romani 496 DOCG.
On Sunday I took the Seabass Carpaccio, lobster tagliolini and duck breast with mango, lettuce and chili. To finish once again the Vanilla Bavarese To drink before the dinner the Hi-Res75 a gin & lemon cocktail and during the dinner a white wine from Castelli Romani 496 DOCG.
The price level is on the expensive side but for the quality, the presentation of the dishes, the serving and the atmosphere is definitely really good.

Read moreThis restaurant offers a pleasant roof terrace with particular views of the surrounding area. The setup is very stylish, and a DJ took care of modern music when we had dinner. The dishes get presented in a modern way and are very good but are not outstanding. Therefore , the prices for the food are not adequate. On the other hand, the wine list offers a satisfying selection of wines from various regions of Italy, whose prices are adequate. To point out a very positive experience: when the sommelier noticed that the cork stopper had a strange smell, he checked the taste of the wine and replaced the bottle immediately. The service is friendly but orientated to international but not national guests. The staff is friendly, not courteous, and less aware of the particular requests...
