Goethe House in Rome, is a renowned cultural institution dedicated to promoting and preserving the legacy of the great German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. On entering the museum visitors are transported back to the artist's time in Italy, where his study and living quarters have been meticulously reconstructed. The home offers an immersive experience, allowing guests to enter Goethe's world as they inspect his personal effects, handwritten manuscripts, and artworks that inspired his creative genius. The space also serves as a meeting point for intellectuals and artists, hosting regular exhibitions, lectures, and performances that explore the connections between Goethe's work and Italian culture. Goethe's home in Rome stands as evidence of Italy's profound influence on the writer's work, providing a unique window into his artistic process and offering an enriching experience for literature and history lovers alike.

Do you know the Goethe Haus in Roma? It's near from the Piazza del Popolo. Via del Corso 18. Casa di Goethe Museum. The German writer Johann Wolfgang Goethe(1749-1832) lived in Roma with his friend painter Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein in 1786 ~ 1788 for 2 years. Mid-thirties in his age Goethe traveled on foot in Italy from the north to the Sicily. Because he loved Rome and Italy. This small museum preserves his friend Tischbein's drawings and Goethe's books and letters. There's is his first novel The Sorrows of Young Werther. Also there's a big and beautiful drawing of him on the armchair looking over the Roma view. And a big portrait of him by Andy Warhol. It's an amazing that we're able to see those of Goethe belongings in Roma. Must visit if you're a fan of Goethe. Strongly recommended.

Utili info? VIAGGIO IN ITALIA XXI - La sguardo full’altro (Journey to Italy XXI The Gaze We Turn On The Other) is a group exhibition of eight artists, at Casa di Goethe Museum, on Via del Corso 18, in Rome. This exhibition is curated by Ludovico Pratesi. The Casa di Goethe Museum is established in the house where the German author Johann Wolfgang Goethe (1749-1832) had lived with a friend of his, painter Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein. Now it is used as a museum, the exhibition I visited was about the “journeys in the twenty-first century”. The director of Casa di Goethe, Gregor H. Lersch, says that the exhibition takes its inspiration from “Goethe’s Italian journey and addresses the question of what travel means in our own day and age.” The exhibition begins on the left side where one pays for the entrance ticket. Johann Wolfgang Goethe’s museum is a beautiful example of this theme, as well. To compare the idea and experiences of travelers to Italy, between Goethe’s time...
