I recently dined at a restaurant and had an overall decent experience. We started with a seafood appetizer which included salmon, sardines, whitefish, and octopus-shrimp ceviche. Everything was delicious but the ceviche didn't impress us much. For the main course, we shared the seafood pasta for two. It was good, but lacked a bit of flavor. The dish also got cold quickly as we were seated outside, but that's understandable given the typical Italian style of serving food. However, the state of the bathroom was disappointing. The soap was watered down, and there was no tissue or toilet paper. This made our dining experience a bit unpleasant. As for the service, it was good. The staff was courteous, but there were a few moments where we had to flag them down to get their attention. Overall, the food was decent, and we enjoyed the appetizer and seafood pasta. However, the ceviche wasn't that tasty, and the lack of bathroom amenities made the experience a bit unpleasant. The service was fine, but there were some hiccups. They gave us complementary Lemoncello at the end which was very nice.

We had a lovely experience here for lunch! This restaurant is located on a busy street and it was initially overwhelming walking down the street with so many restaurants calling you over to their restaurant. However, the lovely woman outside at Hostaria De’ Pastini was waiting calmly and patiently outside for those who requested a table. We immediately felt at ease! The Margherita pizzas here were fantastic. It’s a thin pizza dough that lets the ingredients shine. I recommend the margherita pizza with the bufalo mozzarella. We loved the aperol, limoncello, and Disaronno spritzes here (especially the aperol)! We were all craving a vegetable so we tried the grilled zucchini and zucchini flowers - both were wonderful. If you’re looking for a healthy vegetable, go with the grilled zucchini. The zucchini flowers are fried (and taste delicious). Our waiter was kind, friendly, and attentive. We didn’t feel rushed at all and genuinely enjoyed our experience. Highly recommend!

•We had a very disappointing experience at Hostaria de Pastini, which turned out to be the worst restaurant we visited in Rome. The service was terrible, with waiters rushing around trying to serve all the tables but lacking any sense of courtesy or friendliness. The day was very hot, and inside the restaurant, there was inadequate cooling, making the heat unbearable. Additionally, since the space was not very large, the tables were placed very close to each other. The chaotic atmosphere made the meal far from enjoyable. •The food was simply awful. It felt as though it was frozen, as it arrived so quickly. There was no flavor, the pasta was not fresh, the meatballs were dry, and the lasagna was tasteless. We left food behind, it was impossible to eat. Not to mention the Negroni (€10), which was served in a gin glass and tasted terrible, an absolute disgrace. •We ordered a Lasagna Bolognese (€12) and Spaghetti Polpette (€15), both of which were disasters. Not recommended at all. [prices from JUN/2024] •A recommendation? Don’t go! It’s crowded because it’s in a touristy area, and the only positive aspect is its location, which is very close to the Pantheon. However, it’s not worth your money or your taste buds. I would never go near it again. It was a terrible experience. If you found this info useful, leave a ❤️ to let me know. Thanks!

A well-presented environment marred by sub-par food and mixed quality service. There were long wait times to enter this place. Understandably, they were busy, but this did not justify the disrespect I received when eating here. One waiter was very rushed to have me out and treated me very much like a tourist. I spoke and ordered in Italian, and the other waiter was nice enough to check up on me. The food itself was bland. Parmesan, available upon request, did little to save the meal. Earlier in the week I had eaten in Milano and Venezia, with substantially better food as well as better pricing. The food at this restaurant was under the al-dente texture, with the truffle added as an attempt to save the dish rather than complimenting it. For the clams, there were barely any clams, with most of the shells already empty when the meal was served. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone, with the ratings of the restaurant appearing skewered by tourists.

Hostaria de' Pastini in Rome is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking for delicious food, great service, and a wonderful location. The restaurant's seafood dishes are particularly noteworthy, with incredibly fresh ingredients and generously sized portions that offer excellent value for money. In addition to the outstanding food, the service at Hostaria de' Pastini is also exceptional. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to diners' needs, making for a pleasant and comfortable dining experience. The restaurant is situated in a lovely area, allowing patrons to enjoy the city's sights and sounds while dining. However, the only downside is that the bathrooms were not well-maintained during the reviewer's visit, with no toilet paper available. Despite this minor issue, Hostaria de' Pastini is undoubtedly a must-visit restaurant in Rome, and it comes highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious food, great service, and a fantastic location.

A 4.7 rating for this place on google so expected a little more. I find the biggest indicator of service is how a waiter reacts when we ask for tap water. This place refused and said they don’t have any tap water which obviously is a lie but we do not argue the point and order a bottle of still water. It’s €5 for the cheapest bottle btw. most other places charge €2-3. I also order a beer. The spaghetti vongole was from packet pasta. Flavour of clams was okay. 2 kids had chicken with roast potatoes. its was incredibly dry and they struggled to eat it. We added some sauce from the oxtail dish we also ordered. My kids arent picky eaters - we do sashimi, tartare, kimchi etc and a wide range of foods and cuisines. The seafood risotto was pretty good. Staff were friendly aside from the water request which overall sets a tone of dishonesty unfortunately. For top pasta - i suggest: alfredo all scofa or Osteria Da Fortunata (multiple locations)
