This would have been a five-star review if not for one disappointing interaction. While I was sitting alone, a lady took the only available seat next to me. Shortly after, a member of staff (glass cleaner) approached meânot herâand asked me to move. I was simply minding my own business, waiting for my wife to arrive. Ironically, he didnât ask if there was an issue, nor did he address both of usâjust me. I moved, albeit reluctantly, only to find myself uncomfortably close to the person on my other side.
Iâm not quite sure what logic this chap was operating on, but perhaps heâd be better off polishing glasses rather than interfering with customers. I presume that is his job, as he spent the evening cleaning them.

Our waiter, who spoke English, recommended wines for our meal...
Read moreWe visited II Goccetto because we found so many âbest barâ lists feature it.
All those lists were right to! Itâs an absolute gem. We visited after a long day at the Vatican Museums. We were treated to delicious, affordable wine and a wonderful atmosphere. The building dates back from the renaissance and has a beautiful, original ceiling.
The staff were accommodating and friendly. We didnât eat there as we already had plans for dinner, but the food looked great.
It would appear that it can get busy, we were first in the door when they opened, it quickly filled. We were visiting in mid December!
If we were to visit Rome again weâd certainly be back for more...
