Last night in Rome, after a 3 week EU trip with my fiancèe and, it was probably our best meal of the trip. We had spent 4 nights in Rome at the beginning and were very disappointed with our meal outings whilst staying. But I'm very glad we gave Marco's a go. We ordered a bruschetta to share as an appetiser, which was fine. Simple with only tomatos and a little basil, but the bread was very fresh. Then for mains we ordered a pumpkin ravioli, and the 'Carbonara Extra' with the truffle cream which was brought out split half and half without us asking because he knew we shared the bruschetta; and would likely share the mains too - which seemed very nice. The ravioli was very tasty but the carbonara was my favourite. The pasta was cooked perfectly Al Dente, and they were generous with the truffle (which; for me - is perfect!) And lastly, we got a tiramisu (to share obviously), which was also very delicious. Highly recommend giving them a go if you're in the area - or even out of it. I am very happy with our dining experience (sorry, no photos of the food. Too...
Read moreI usually do not write reviews, but I had to make an exception for this one. I met the owner Marco, and we came to the restaurant at the most inconvenient time. Yet, he still was so welcoming to have us in at his restaurant. It’s unlike the service in Italy where they aren’t very personable, and gentle. He knew what to recommend because I had asked for recommendation. I ordered carbonara with truffle cream—even though I am a picky food critic, it was amazing. Marco is so kind and so nice and caring for his customers unlike a lot of people I have run into so far. I’ve also been in Italy for about a week and tried almost every type of pasta in pretty top rated/recommended/Michelin restaurants (spaghetti alla scoglio, gnocchi with gorgonzola, spaghetti bolognese, eggplant lasagna, zucchini flower pasta, different varieties of tagliatelles, penne, pappardelle, scialatelli, paccheri...I really ate a lot of pastas) and I have to say this might be my top two favorite of all the pastas I’ve had. I highly recommend it if you...
Read moreA lovely meal in a lovely spot with lovely people. This little family owned restaurant is close to our hotel and had great reviews so we made a reservation. We were met with smiles and “Prego!” And immediately seated by the friendly owner. Service was personal and in English! Lucky us! The meal we ordered was bruschetta, pumpkin ravioli with sage cream sauce, porchetta, and sea bream in zucchini crust. Oh and a four part dessert including samplers of fruit salad, tiramisu, panne cotta, and zabaglione. Every item was beautifully prepared. The pumpkin ravioli and the porchetta were outstanding. The service was fast and friendly. The place was full of neighbourhood residents and I can see why. If I lived in Rome this is exactly the kind of place I would go regularly for comfort food. It felt like home. When in Rome next time we will be back regardless of where we stay. This place is worth a trip. I wish we had more days here. We would have come...
