Food was good. Felt it was more like a shady place. Took few minutes to figure out if the restaurant was actually open. No sign of the name. If you are looking for a typical Anapoorna South Indian restaurant, this is NOT it. This is different and menu itself was clumsy and had to take hand sanitizer after touching it. Would strongly recommend to take enough cash before entering this place. I had to step out to get cash from ATM as their credit card app doesn’t work and had to pay cash. Not sure if this is done on purpose. This let me down for sure. I never had problems with my credit card in Rome restaurants except for this place which is weird.

Great indian cuisine. We chose the vegeterian and the meat menus, where you can choose between different dishes. The menus are very convient and you will not leave with empty stomach. We also tried Lissa, a mango drink, which was very nice. The food is full of flavor, but it's not (hot) spicy. (And if you want hot spicy, I'm sure the owner will make it for you.) Another special mention needs to be given for the Naan bread (with and without cheese)...soo delicious. The owner is extremely kind and will do everything to make you feel at home. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the crazy amount of food you will get.

We arrived to the restaurant early so we were the only people there. There is plenty of space and a lot of tables, perfect for big groups. The owner is a very nice person, he was so attentive with us all the time. The food is super good tasting, with good quantity and good prices. For two people we ordered: One pakoora aubergine as appetizer, one chicken tika-mashala, one basmati rice, and naan bread (both normal and garlic type), together with one big bottle of water it was 20€. All the dishes were delicious, we would have liked to try more things but we were really full. We will repeat for sure!

Located very close to the Manzoni subway station, this Indian restaurant takes you back to India. While I am someone who loves to taste the local cuisine but also miss Indian food whenever I am on international vacation. In our 3 days in Rome, we went for dinner twice in Annapoorna and would again visit whenever I am back in Rome. The food is delicious, the service is good, the ambience is nice and the owners and staff are very welcoming. The owners are also planning to add dosa in their menu which luckily he gave us for tasting at his expense and it was really good. They even gave us free desert on our 1st visit to their restaurant. They don't have omlette in their menu and when I simply asked whether omlette is available , they quickly went to the nearby supermarket, grabbed some eggs and served me an omlette. This is the service for which I may return to this restaurant whenever I am back in Rome and ofcourse for a nice chat...

I would to give 2 perspects of the food being offered here.

First, if you haven't tried an I dian food before and you are non-indian.. then you may like the food.. because of the less spiciness,

Secondly, as a person of Indian taste, the recepies stands no where close the the original dishes.

For example - aaloo chaat.. it was just boiled potatoes with some olive oil garnishing. That's it. No spicey flavor present.

For chole/ chickpeas - personally I liked it.but my friends who are from north.. for them. Chole shouldn't be Yellow but rather, brownish and more spices.

For the quantity..it's definitely overpriced for the amount what you pay vs what you get in return.

The physical menu... This can surely be improved to match the vibe. It was just a mere paper in a low quality plastic.

Then for orders.. I didn't understand why there was no coordination among the staffs. For taking 1 order from a table.. 2-3 persons...

Unfortunately, this place is two stars at most based on our experience and, for balance, we have eaten at a number of curry restaurants across Europe. We struggle to understand the high rating on Google. They had to go out to buy the soft drinks we ordered, which took a while, and so did the food. On the positive side, we were served some fresh and tasty onion bhajis at the start while waiting. The naan was actually just a thin pizza base rather than a thick fluffy naan. When the chicken curries arrived, the meat looked dark and tasted old, some was not fully cooked through. The mutton curries tasted better, but it was clear the meat was not cooked together with the sauce. The waiting staff were kind and apologetic and did not charge us for the chicken curries. The restaurant could use some background music as you can hear ingredients being chopped in...
