The food just wasn't good, we've had true Italian pasta and the food was basic. My boyfriend was eating the bacon in his dish (witch for me tasted like American bacon) and in the end we left because we didn't eat the rest. For my plate, which was the fettuccine and sausage, I dont know if most people know, but it tasted and looked like Vienna sausages. The supplì was okay, and just that. I cut it in half because we only got one and even though the outside was very crispy the cheese inside was cold. The fried fish was one piece, so I cut in half, and it was not that appetizing. When we received the pasta is tasted so basic that we just didn't want to eat it because we knew that there are better restaurants in the area. So I went and told them I didn't want to pay for something I didn't really eat. They asked me why and I didn't want to be mean, so I said just because. But they were like "we can't because we need a reason" so I told them it didn't taste good and it didn't take fresh. That made them mad. He said that the food is good, and that just because I think it isn't good doesn't mean that it isn't good. So they gave me a 4 dollar discount. I didn't make a big deal because I was trying to get ride of my euros anyway. So that was my experience, maybe you might have a different one, but if it was similar make a comment. My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday thinking it was a really good place to eat, and saw the ratings...
Read moreWe wanted to have lunch somewhere and eat in a traditional place and we chose this restaurant since it is not that close to the Colosseum but it is within walking distance. It has good reviews but I personally am not on that opinion. We had spaghetti and lasagna and they were tasty I liked them, but the other two dishes were not what they should be. We had bruscetti and they were as hard as a rock. The one was only with chopped tomatoes on top and the other was with artichoke paste wich was not tasty at all. I physically could not eat them they were soo hard and I've had bruscetti in other places and I know that is not how it is supposed to be. The other thing we had was salad caprese, again a cooking disaster I personally thought that you couldn't mess up a caprese salad but here we are. The salat consisted of 7-8 cut tomatoes and a whole mozzarella in the middle. The presentation of the food is not their greatest feature for sure. And on the other hand our server was rude, didn't ask us about the food but we heard him ask the people on the table next to us, and that was the reason why we didn't tell him the problems with the food. He brought the food out in like two minutes but we had to wait for the bill for maybe 15, wich was weird. I won't go there again, it is not a bad place but it is just a basic tourist trap as the other places around...
Read moreAmazing experience. This place was recommended to us by our tattoo artist (who lives and works in Rome) and her husband and we are so grateful!
I took my wife here for our last night in Rome and it was honestly such a treat. From the food to the service, everything was outstanding. Our server, Simone, was kind, helpful with the menu, and so much fun. It was really busy during tourist season but we didn't feel like a burden -- quite the opposite, it felt like dining at our local neighbourhood joint.
We ordered negronis, bruschetta, carpaccio, supplí, wine, pasta, and dessert, and digestif, and were blown away from start to finish. Carpaccio was like butter, the rocket was so flavourful, as was the tomato bruschetta. The ragu they use for the supplí and fettuccine is rich and decadent. Pasta was handmade and perfectly cooked. Plus, the wine was incredible. Perfect accompaniment. We wanted a full bodied and we got it. It was almost brown it was so rich. Absolutely perfect.
We ended with their cestino (basket) of Chantilly cream and fresh mango which was light yet filling. Simone's recommendation for the digestif (an Amaro) was incredible. He really made our night special. Grazie di tutto Simone!!!
Highly...
