We were looking for a place to have coffee and recharge. Reached, and were told that if we are only having coffee, that we could only stand by the bar to have it. Outside seats are for lunch only guests (it’s 3:10 pm and the cafe closes at 4 pm, with absolutely no queue and plenty of seats outside)
Said we wanted pastry as well, and if that could warrant us a seat outside as we wanted to rest. They said no.
Asked if we were to buy an alcoholic drink, could we sit outside, they finally relented and said we could sit down, but inside.
Moments after we sat down, a lady was seated at the table next to us, and all she ordered was a latte! Barely jumped through any hoops to get an indoor seat. No pastry, no alcoholic drink.
When we were leaving and stepped outside, we saw one couple having just a glass of beer each outside, as well as another lady having a cup of coffee and a pastry.
I’m not sure why it was so tough for us to be allowed to sit down when others seemed to have been allowed to sit easily without having “lunch”
Clearly chose the wrong place to have our last...
Read moreIf you are starving and nowhere else to go, maybe go here. The waiters were rude, very much money oriented. We had to switch tables right after ordering as another freed up and they needed our table for moving 3 together for 5 people, which woul have been fine, but then we ordered our pasta and lasagne, for 8,5 eur i would have imagined to get a cooked lasagne, however pasta was still hard and not at all cooked, at least they were not using fresh pasta with eggs, so i did not get food poisoning. The sauce was very pale and tasted like Vegeta and i think it was made from pork. I was just finishing my last bite when basically the waitress asked if we were finished and rushed off with my plate. Felt very much thrown out. The coffee i ordered an espresso, but got a ristoretto, they even admitted but no discount or replacing it. It also tasted cheap and...
Read moreOVERCHARGED - CHECK YOUR BILL! Prices charged were much higher than advertised. On arrival I asked to see the menu and medium cappuccinos were advertised at 2.50. We were surprised to then be charged 4.00 euros each for medium (ie small) cappuccinos (yes we ordered them with soy but this usually increases the price by about 50c each). While the croissants were tasty, the experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Not helped by the sour staff at the cashier. Check your bill total before paying, or even better, perhaps avoid altogether. From the reviews it looks like I'm not the only tourist this has happened to :( ps if you're happy to pay 4 euro for a cappuccino, please note that this is VERY expensive, even in a Rome...
