Osteria Tuttoqua — Restaurant in Rome

While studying abroad, I lived in Monteverde. This restaurant was my favorite place in Monteverde and where I would go to treat myself every once and a while.

The two guys that seem to run the show are fun and lively, and they are extremely knowledgable when it comes to food and wine. I had some of my favorite wines and definitely some of my best meals at this restaurant.

I would suggest you go with the daily specials when you go. There's a reason they're specials, and the food is very fresh. That being said, their carbonara was also my favorite carbonara I had in Italy, so if you're only going there once, you may need to go with that option.

I had a really good ravioli, scallops, pastas, and shrimp off of their specials menu in my time in Rome.

This is definitely a locals place, and it can be hard to get seats, as the restaurant is quite small. Highly recommended for anyone in the area, and having a little bit of Italian background would definitely be helpful as the guys running this place don't speak...

Estremamente calato rispetto all'ultima volta che siamo venuti in questo locale. Un anno fa avevamo fatto una american breakfast completa, espressa e molto buona, da valutazione a 5 stelle (che così era stata). Ieri invece siamo arrivati poco dopo l'apertura delle 11 per riproporci la stessa colazione dello scorso anno, ma: Neanche il tempo di sederci, la proprietaria, con un modo di fare discutibilmente scocciato, ci chiede cosa vogliamo, avrei voluto il menù, ma le ho chiesto cosa offriva la colazione: cornetti riempiti, una torta il cui gusto non è stato ben dichiarato ed un altra torta che non sapeva a che gusto fosse perchè era in preparazione, non hanno nulla di salato, "neanche ci hanno scaricato il pane stamattina". alla nostra richiesta di capire che torte fossero è entrata e mai più tornata. Dopo poco torna un ragazzo che ci ripete il menù, ordiniamo. Cappuccini freddi, cornetti abbastanza vecchi, la torta almeno era decente. Ah, noi eravamo con 3 bambini piccoli, in una sala "all'aperto", ma totalmente chiusa dalle pareti dei gazebi, non potete far fumare dentro, non è rispettoso nei confronti delle altre persone, e dei bambini, oltretutto perchè noi, per rispettare gli altri, appena i bambini hanno iniziato a disturbare, ce ne siamo andati. Per quanto raramente venissi in questo locale, credo proprio che non tornerò a farmi affumicare, mentre bevo a stento un cappuccino freddo tra gli spifferi gelati e le pozzanghere...

We had the vegan burger and the lasagna. The burger came with only the bun and the burger. No salad, no tomato, no dressing. It is easy to say that the bun was dry. The lasagna was only filled with cheese, too much cheese! No meat or anything else to make it taste anything else than cheese. When we told the staff that we though the burger was dry they only said "OK" and waved it off. No compensation and no sorry....
