Ristorante Le Caveau — Restaurant in Rome

Let’s start from the beginning… we went there because of the ratings on google. The truth is that the food was very good but the service was terrible! They are not friendly for families and kids at all! Specially the girl who is working there! We were the group of 10 adults and 7 kids (7 months - 4 years). We got there at 12:30 and it was completely empty restaurant. Only one couple in the corner. They put us at the tables and she started to take our strollers saying that they need space to work . We didn’t say anything. She put the stroller of my son in the second corner or the restaurant that I didn’t even see it but I was ok with that. We ordered the food and the kids stared to walk around the restaurant but they were just walking around calmly. My son was next the the window looking at something there . I was sitting at the second table next to him that he will not hurt himself or will not bother to anybody . She came to me saying that there is our place ( showing our tables ) and we need to be there. I asked her if me or my son is bothering her because I didn’t see the problem 💁‍♀️ . We were calm he was standing I was sitting we weren’t even speaking. It was the first moment when I wanted to leave the restaurant. Then they started to deliver our order she was throwing everything to the table. It was only missing that something will fall on us. Later was sort of ok . Then she started again because I put the stroller of my son next to me but the reason was that he wanted to sleep so I put him there and he was sleeping next to me. When she came to give us food she pushed the stroller so much that he almost hit with the head of the corner of second table !!!!! Probably she thought that it was empty and she wanted to show me that it should be here. When I reacted she realised that there is the baby and instead to say sorry I didn’t know. She started to say that she didn’t do anything and she started to fight with me . It was insane. Definitely we will not recommend this restaurant!!!!! I wish you better service for families!

Me and my boyfriend stayed in Rome for a week, and ended up spending two of our evenings here! Le caveau was recommended to us by our Airbnb host - and I see why! The first time we went, I had the spaghetti and clams, and my boyfriend had the fetuchinne alla gricia. The amount of flavour in my spaghetti and clams was amazing it was so delicious. And my boyfriend enjoyed his meal so much that he got it again the second time we went, and I joined him in getting it as well because he made it sound so good - and it really was delicious. I got so full both times we went, but I really didn't want to leave any because it was so tasty.

We also got the bruschetta for a starter both times we went, and I am a huge fan of tomatoes as it is, but the tomatoes they served here were the best I've ever had. They were so full of flavour and so juicy they were beautiful. The bruschetta as a whole was just perfect too.

Both nights we went we were given a free tiramisu to share and it was absolutely amazing. My boyfriend isn't even a fan of coffee, but even he said it was delicious. And just full of the Italian coffee flavour, that is so much better than in the UK! If I could've managed another bite of food I definitely would have ordered another plate.

Both times we went we were mainly served by the young male waiter who was very polite and friendly. I especially liked that on our first night, they must have seen me struggling with the spaghetti so they came over with spoons to help, and also brought wipes to clean up after my clams. On the second night the waitress also brought me a hook for my bag so it wouldn't be on the floor. All just nice touches that made the experience better!

Definitely one of the best restaurants in Rome, and better quality for your money since it's not in one of the main tourist areas! 100%...

During ours visited at Rome we tried to „Le caveau Ristorante”. This place was be recemomded for by friends. First day, we were hungry, so we visited this place and ordered carbonara, and we were suprised.. This dish was deliciouse. The way of giving was fantasting for us and the portion were appriopriate for two persons. We were under impressed.

Next day, we returned to this restaurand and we tried other dishes. We choosed „tagiatelle alla rouge”. It was very nice to for the palate. The waiter was very proffesional, kind and polite. This name is Matheo. Young man who likes his job. We were glad that we met this boy.

On the third day, we come back again. This day we choose only dessert and coffe but we were satisfied. We hit the waiter which was very nice for us the day before.

The last day, we also chose this restaurant. We went to this place. It was important day for us. Maatheo didnin’t work this day but the owner’s daughter was working. The young, kind woman. We ordered to perfect dishes for us.

Summary, we would like to recomended this place. They have a marvelouse dished and the details like a: napkins, tablecloths and tableware are impressive. They have a things and we thing it was a very big plus for them.

When we opportunity to come back to Roma, we will definety visited this place. We would like to recomend this restaurand. They have good prices, waitresses / waiters, athmosfere and positive Energy.
