Ristorante BellaDonna — Restaurant in Rome

We had a very lovely evening at BellaDonna :) The exceptional review score seems to be wholeheartedly deserved at this moment in time. Service was excellent, very forthcoming and accommodating our wishes.

Like making the effort to enhance the side dish for my Saltimbocco: roasted potatoes with my beloved rosmary. Delicious combo and cannot fathom I only saw some with thyme instead of rosmary here in Rome.

The food was also of extraordinary quality and very delicious! My GF had the vegetarian Fagottini filled with honey, nuts & pears and cheese sauce on top as main and we were blown away from that awesome combination of ingredients. Our starters were both exceptional, especially the caprese but also the simple bean balls. My main Saltimbocco was not the traditional one with pork but veal and I'd say it even enhanced the known taste of the pork version - there's still bacon on top.

The atmosphere was good but we were just sitting outside so no comment on the interior.

All in all the best food experience I had in Rome after two visits of 1 week 15 years apart. Good job Ms Donna and family!...

My party and I arrived during lunch time. We sat on the outside under the umbrella with lights. We were brought water that was inside a glass bottle $2 euro. The waiter finally came to our table and took our orders. I ordered Spaghetti with meatballs and she ordered Lasagna with meat sauce. We sat there as it was a lot of others patrons eating at the restaurant. Once our food was brought out the waiter placed spaghetti and meatballs in front of me and was handing my friend a pizza. She let's the waiter know at that point that he had gotten her order wrong. Literally getting mad because not only was I there and heard her order, he says "I've been doing this along time and you ordered, (Whatever the name of the pizza was.) He then grabbed the pizza and went inside when my friend went after him to let him know she didn't want it. As she entered the restaurant, the waiter was seen fussing with whom I guess was the manger when she told them never-ending. As soon as she set back down he brings out the lasagna and apologized. The food was Blah and we didn't see any...

pretty chaotic.. ordered drinks.. glass of wine arrives.. no sign of rest of drinks and water.. lots of chasing these eventually arrive..

starters meant to be mozarella and parma ham as well as focaccia.. the former duly arrives.. no sign of the focaccia despite lots.of requests..

main courses.we went for lamb chops.and fillet steak done medium.. side order roasted veg..

the roasted veg arrives a clear 10 mins before the rest..

lamb chops fine and great.. fillet steak.great if we had asked for rare.. as a medium request.its clearly well undercooked

tell the staff about the steak who take it away and we sit.like idiots for 15 mins..

eventually we just give up.and ask for the bill.abandoning whats left.of the steak..

on the bill.. surprise.. the focaccia finally makes.an appearance (we never saw it in real life)..

overall a bit of a disaster througout..

one extra star added.for good lamb chops but otherwise wouldnt...
