I cocktail sono ottimi ma la commessa è maleducata e tratta i clienti malissimo e non conosce gli ingredienti di cocktails. Quando pago 15 euro per un cocktail, vorrei essere trattata con rispetto. It has been one of my favourite cocktail places in Rome since many years, but their service has been terrible lately. There is one waitress (tall, dark-haired, wearing glasses) that is very rude and does not even know the ingredients of the cocktails. I asked her about one ingredient in a pear cocktail, she looked at me as if I was stupid and said it was simply "the pear" implying the fruit but I looked it up after and it was a pear liqueur. Next time I went there with my friend and she treated us with no respect: gave our table to an older couple of tourists instead of us, although we have been waiting there for quite some time before the couple (the couple did not book), said we cannot take the table although another couple that had the table already left to pay at the counter and told us to take it (the table was clean), did not bring the menu (and she brought it to others) and was even making faces when we asked her for the menu. A very, very rude person. I did not expect her to be smiley like the Italians (the waitress is not Italian) but being this rude is too much. If I pay 15 euros for a cocktail, I would like to be treated with respect instead of being treated like this, the waitress should at least be polite and know the...
Read moreThis was our first experience at a cocktail bar in Rome and it was HORRIBLE. We ordered two rounds and the first round was perfect but then during the 2nd round, we are asked to get up from our seats for a pending reservation with a slight attitude. Of course, this is very new to us but hey, we’re cool and moved to the side wall with stools as asked. After about 25 minutes of sitting and enjoying ourselves, the manager rushes over and tells me to put my jacket beneath the bar. At first I’m a little confused because there was no hanger but then I notice a shelf and I’m told to put it below due for the wall decorations (see attached pictures 1,2&3) ?? I noticed that all down this side of the wall there are “decorations” and no one else is being asked to put their stuff below the bar but then again every other patron was Italian. As we are calling our Uber and waiting for literally 3 minutes, I pulled my jacket out again so I wouldn’t forget it and the manager rushes over to make a scene and tell me that I’m ruining the installation. If you’re in Rome and looking for a cocktail bar, find somewhere else - I’m sure there’s nothing an average bartender couldn’t make you...
Read moreSalotto 42 is situated in the gorgeous Piazza Di Pietra opposite the amazing temple of Hadrian. It is open from 10.30am serving coffee and light bites, transforming into a cocktail bar in the evening and staying open until 2am.
The cocktail list was so impressive and we were torn on which ones to choose. They focus on using homemade ingredients and offering an unique experience with each cocktail.
The menu is split into four section – Apertivi (€10), Cocktails (€12), Twist (€15) and Sparkling Cocktails (€15). Each section has over ten to choose fro, so if you love cocktails, go here! We opted for the Lady Bramble from the cocktails section with Gin, Sangue Morlacco, lemon, raspberry, cardamon syrup and the Aviation from the Twist section served with Gin, violet, maraschino, lemon and violet air.
Both were presented beautifully and were really tasty! There was a ‘cool’ vibe here and definitely...
