I came with my husband to celebrate our anniversary, and I’m so glad we chose to stay at the Singer. The hotel, despite being fully booked and very centrally located on a little alley off Via del Corso, was very quiet. There was some hallway noise because of some lively children staying on the same floor, but there no late night sounds, no vacuums before 10am, no buzzing traffic. I’ve never slept so well in any major European city. The mattress and plethora of pillows were beyond comfortable. I noticed there were ear plugs available but I never used them. The thermostat also helped with room temperature control, which fluctuated a bit when we visited in the hot days & cold nights of springtime. We never used the breakfast room, but opted for the more peaceful option to order room service, which offered endless food and coffee at a price of €20/day (€10/person) to have a free breakfast delivered to our room. The breakfast was quite good, especially the eggs and fruit platter. If I weren’t on a romantic getaway, this may have bothered me more to pay to have free food delivered, and should just be something to keep in mind for those who plan on using room service for breakfast. Our suite was rather spacious compared to most hotels in the area. The shower had excellent water pressure and was fully enclosed (if you’re American, you’ll appreciate that shower door). The towels and robes were lush and always replaced, even during turndown service. We loved the endless free bottles Pellegrino and Acqua Panna. They were great to take on a long day of walking, and were great to come back to and have by the bed. I also loved how the room was cleaned very quickly after we left, we never came back to a messy room. It’s these little luxuries that made a difference. Everyone at the front desk was eager to help and were beyond pleasant to greet every day. Taxis were easily hailed, max 5 minute wait on a Friday night. The front door was always opened for us, our bags whisked away. One bit of feedback for the front desk, I wish they had more connections with restaurants in town. When I asked for help getting last minute reservations at specific places on a Saturday night, they were unsuccessful in securing anything. It turns out they did what I already did, which is submit my name and email via the restaurant’s website. Same goes for booking last minute tickets to the Colosseum, they checked the website for general admission, and they didn’t have any connections with any tour operators. Thankfully we didn’t miss out because I secured entry on my own. I wish they could have been more helpful in that regard. This by no means says that anyone didn’t try their best, but you may just have to do your own research and planning. Thank you everyone at Singer for your warm welcome and wonderful stay. I hope we’ll see you again in the near future.

Singer Palace Hotel was one of our favorite hotels in Italy. It is located close to the Trevi Fountain and Vittoriano ('wedding cake' or 'typewriter' building), on a small road off a very busy street, next to Trinity College Pub. We stayed 3 nights. Service is impeccable. When we checked in, one of the front desk women walked us to our hotel room and showed us around. I asked if she could recommend a few places for dinner and she wrote several down, providing details for each one (how far walking distance and what dishes they were known for). The next morning we had an early Vatican tour and would miss breakfast so they made sure we had a to-go box of breakfast treats to wake with us. Daily breakfast on the 5th floor was included. They have a small buffet of baked goods - donuts, cannolis, danish, cake, etc. You order off the menu- we had their seasonal fruits, an omelotte, a crepe (everything was good). The hotel room had little snacks on the desk, that were replenished daily: some dried apricots, fresh berries, bedside jelly candies, and these delicious round crackers. They provided turndown service as well. We had lunch once on the 5th floor (Le Terrazze) - ordered the eggplant (aubergine) appetizer (super unique and tasty) and my husband got the sea bass and I got ravioli. Both delicious. We had drinks and light snacks on the rooftop bar (Jim's Rooftop Cocktail Bar) during the day. All drinks come with bar snacks- the tastiest green olives w/ pits (my fav), potato chips, blue tortilla chips and almonds. I got the Hugo cocktail and my husband had a glass of Chardonnay. We got the bruschetta appetizer (nothing special). He got the cheeseburger/fries and I got the green beans salad with tuna/anchovies. Prices are high but you are paying for a beautiful rooftop overlook. It seemed to be very busy at sunset and evenings. There is an elevator. The hotel name comes from it being the former European headquarters for Singer sewing machines. Throughout the hotel you will see old typewriters as part of the decor. The service was EXCELLENT. The lobby is small but we were always greeted warmly coming and going. They were very helpful with getting us taxis and making dinner reservations. When we checked out i asked where I could purchase the delicious round crackers (I figured i could find some at a convenient store or grocery), the woman said the chef makes them and would send us home with some! They also sent us home with small jars of their strawberry preserves and apple & onion mostarda. There is a reason for the Michelin 2024 sticker on their front door. Wonderful hotel with excellent service and location. Looking forward to staying again in the future.

This was a very nice hotel in the center of Rome. We really appreciated being able to walk to a lot of the major tourist sites. The staff are welcoming and friendly, and they made sure we had everything we asked for. We arrived at around 11am and were met at the taxi by the manager and bell boy, and all our bags were promptly taken care of. We were ushered to the rooftop for welcome drinks and then our room was ready at about noon. This was nice to have early. In our room, all our bags were already set up for us on luggage racks, a very nice touch. The room air conditioning was strong, cold, and adjustable, wonderful for summer in Rome. The room (suite) itself was spacious, with a bed, desk, and sofa bed. The bathroom was a little annoying with the door blocking the way to the toilet, but overall it was fine. They provided some very special amenities for our child - child slippers, bathroom, bath products for babies, and a cot, which was a very nice touch. Breakfast was delicious, beautifully presented, and made to order. Service was friendly and attentive, and all the staff we met were fantastic. We had an early morning tour one of the days and they were very quick at serving the food so we could go. Each time we entered the hotel we were met with lovely welcoming smiles and chocolates offered to our child. They even packed us a small bag of chocolates for our departure. The reason this is not 5 stars is because of two reasons: 1. The value for the price paid - we paid 1600 Euros per night for a suite. Granted, this is in summer and for a good location, but for this price I would have expected a whole lot more. Only breakfast was provided. There is no gym or sauna or pool, and airport/port transfers are not included as well. This was the most expensive hotel in our entire trip, many other cheaper hotels had pools or 1/2 board included. 2. We set our port pickup at 8am, but early that morning around 6am I realized we would not make it out by 8am, so I asked them to change the pickup time to 9am. They didn't change the pickup time, and on top of that, we were charged a 100+ Euro late fee. This was on top of the 370+ Euro port transfer fee. I would have expected them to absorb this cost, given the huge price we already paid for this room, and the port transfer was supposed to monitor the ship in case of delays.
