These people are scum. They cannot be trusted and will rob you blind at the first opportunity. Their food is the worst quality imaginable and the prices are sky-high. They post fake 5-star reviews every time they get a bad review. The waiters are also stealing money from the owner, by pushing the customers to pay in cash and pocketing the money for themselves. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.
You would think that this place, being so close to the Vatican, would have staff who are helpful and kind to tourists in the area. But in fact the opposite is true. The sinners hide in the shadows, right outside the pearly gates. Fear not faithful followers, the wicked will be judged, not by us on Earth, but by the Almighty. Greed may benefit you in the short term, but one day it will catch up to you.
Edit: in response to the owner, they allow you to post all the fake reviews with no comments, so why would they not allow mine? I don't need to justify my words. This review is in response to my experience at your restaurant, and I do not need to give details if I don't want to. Google says that it does not monitor reviews. So, just like you can create bot accounts, or if you offer free drinks to your customers in exchange for a 5-star review, there is nothing Google can do. Some businesses are aiming to be successful in the long run, and do not care about online reviews. Many businesses will let the reviews write themselves, by treating customers well and not trying to milk customers for as much money as possible just to make a quick buck. Your restaurant, in my experience is not like this. Your restaurant is trying to dupe your customers into paying overly high prices. There is no other way for customers to speak out besides writing a review. If you want to get more customers, then be respectful toward your customers. Be grateful that you have a business and you can make money. You have a restaurant in Rome in a high-traffic area, so it should be easy for you to make money. But you instead decide to be greedy and take advantage of people. I stand by every word in my review. I am a real customer, I know that myself. The viewing public can judge for themselves whether I am a real customer or not. They can choose to heed my warning or not, that is their choice. I know that I will never visit your restaurant again. If I am in the area near your restaurant again, I will walk around the block to avoid you. I will sooner eat at McDonalds or just get a panini from the corner store than patronize your terrible...
Read moreIt has now been about a year since I was scammed at this place, and I come onto Google Maps every so often to see if there are any new reviews by others who got scammed here. Basically, they gave me the menu, and I asked what they recommend, and they said they have a special plate recommendation, and they are gonna take care of me. They bring a plate of seafood, and a shared plate of pasta. They kept bringing drinks saying that the drinks are free. But then the bill came and it was €260. I said, "why is it so much." And the waiter said that it was because I got the special. Then I said I didn't expect it to be so much. Then the waiter said "but you ate everything!" But nothing on the menu cost nearly €260. It was for two people, and also we don't drink alcohol, the the extra drinks they brought were soda, etc.
They obviously took us for tourists. It was late at night and we were tired, so we decided to just pay the bill and leave, because we didn't want any trouble. There were also hardly any other people around, so we felt pressured to pay the bill.
To this day, I regret very much choosing this place to eat. As I said, it was late and my wife was very tired. We also had our dog with us, and were somewhat desperate to find a restaurant, as it was quite late and most places were already closed.
Anyways, if you eat here, be sure to choose your food from the menu, and if the item you want is not on the menu, ask how much it will cost before you agree to order. Had we ordered off the menu and confirmed the price with the waiter, we could have paid much less. We live in Naples, and here we have found that most restaurants are quite trustworthy and do not overcharge customers.
Or best yet, don't go to this restaurant. It is a tourist trap, and cannot be trusted.
Maybe they have learned from the bad reviews they get, but probably not. I have noticed a lot of fake-looking reviews on their Google profile. I am guessing they create fake accounts and give themselves 5-star reviews to keep their overall rating above 4.0, allowing them to be among the "top rated" in the area.
Learn from us, and make sure you don't put yourself in a position where you are in a foreign area late at night and don't have your wits about you, and end up getting taken advantage of. Rome is a high traffic, touristy place, and there are a lot of people who will take advantage of you if...

REASONS NOT TO GO, ARE PRETTY CLEAR!!!
Went here after visiting Vatican museums. First waiter was kind, then manager started taking the order. Lot of talking & hazzling, pushy, tried to make us buy things we didn't want or like, we had to be very strict. Tried to be funny, missed it totally. Frozen pizza and hamburger arrived 15mins before pastas, so slow service. Nobody asked even once is everything ok or do we need more.
Tasteless food, frozen pizzas served as "fresh" self baked, expensive hamburger dry and no pepper/salt, pestopasta was "smashed" tasting weird and totally never seen "al dente".
We had to wait for bill quite a long time after we were ready. I was forced to step up and aski from restaurant. Only the boss was allowed to give bills, I saw. The we got invoice, it had one row 0,01€ for drink we said we don't want to. Then there were row "magglorazione", which didn't tell anything, boss said it is somekind of tax or service or something. I told them when asked for the invoive to make sure invoice is correct, this was the result. Scam.
We gave them feedback regading food and service, especially my wife who the boss tried to fool, but the boss started to say bad things about chef etc, playing his own game like we would take his speech seriously. Really unpleasant visit, really not good food and also pretty dishonest operation.
Also, two ladies from USA, ordered food, they got an extra food, they did not order, paid it and left. Said to the boss (after hazzling with invoice) tbat this was quite expensive, we are paying something we didn't order. Ladies discussed with us a little, thwy were not happy.
Also, one couple left the place before getting an order, something went wrong regarding allergies.
DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE IN ROME / VATICAN CITY, LOVE...
