Amazing quality food! I’ve been to over 30 restaurants since my stay in Italy, and i can proudly say out of the many times I’ve ordered spaghetti…theirs is the best! So good… i came back two days in a row. Amazing quality for a great price. Their bruschetta is very fresh too! This restaurant is right outside of the Vatican, so just like any other restaurants right outside of a large attraction in Italy, there will obviously be a bit of a sub charge. When I paid yesterday, i didnt Even notice, because it wasn’t even a big deal nor expensive, considering we were eating with a cool view. I’ve eaten at a lot of places and this one is one of the best with great food (better spaghetti than Zaza’s and they’re one of my favorite restaurants in all of Italy). Definitely stop here after the Vatican! Has amazing staff too! Giancarlo is so sweet and attentive. Amazing server and person overall!

Avoid this place at all costs. It’s a tourist trap. They are located just across the street from the Vatican Museum so they have the perfect conditions to do what they do best: stealing their customers, literally! When you see the menu you think their prices are ok: pizzas and pasta costing a maximum of 10 euros. I chose gnocchi and the waiter told me not to order it cause they were not very good that day(!). Then I tried to order a pizza and the same waiter told me they didn’t have some of the ingredients and then he suggested spaghetti with meatballs as it was the dish of the day and the pasta was fresh! I agreed without asking the price (my mistake)! While I was waiting I asked if I could charge my mobile phone anywhere in the restaurant and if it was safe. The waiter assured it was safe so I left it charging near the bar. The food arrived and it was AWFUL!!! 2 tiny, dry, tasteless meatballs and a small amount of pasta. I didn’t complain cause I was starving after 5 hours visiting the museum. The charged 26 euros for the pasta and a glass of house white wine. It is very clear that this is a scam, they try to convince you to choose something that is not on the menu, advertising it as the dish of the day and then charging what they want. I asked to see the manager and he told me, in a very rude way, that that was the price of what I have order including 4 euros of cover fee!!! After paying I asked my iPhone back and surprisingly it was not where I have left it! The manager told me they can’t control everybody who passes by. I was so angry by then that I threatened the manager to call the police that was at the museum entrance just across the street, if I didn’t get the phone real quick. Five minutes later the iPhone miraculously reappeared where I left it! I guess someone from the staff took it and when they saw me willing to call the police, they put it back. So, I had the worse Italian experience in this restaurant. If you decide go there don’t say you were not warned.

Since the Vatican were very strict about their entry times, i found myself with many minutes of waiting time and decided to go have a gelato somewhere. This place was conveniently across the street from the entrance so i decided to go try it out. Obviously i knew it was going to be overpriced due to its location, and when i saw barely anyone inside i knew what i was signing up for. That was later confirmed by the menu with no prices. However, even then i was painfully disappointed. I ordered a gelato with chocolate and pistachio and was like they couldn't mess this up right? Wrong. The pistachio was a pain to eat, i actually left a large bit of it (the portion was massive to their credit) and i just paid and left. And when i say paid, i do mean overpaid. Almost 12€ for a miserable gelato and service. I am used to the service charge in italian restaurants, but here? What service was worth 15%? The staff were nice and everything but like really? Anyways, we all do crazy things when we are bored and hungry, but this was just a big disappointment.

Be careful!!! Honestly, food tastes ok with normal price in Rome, while their billing method is relatively illegal / dishonest(cheating tourists and/or government). When we asked for a bill, a woman came and just calculated the price manually by herself and showed us the total price on a calculator. As we remembered the price of food that we have ordered, we realized the total price showed on calculator was much different from what we expected. Thus, we asked the woman to show her calculations and she told us that there are 15% service fees included and it was showed on the menu. We checked the menu again, and really found that sentence after her help(yes, very small words showed at the buttom right corner of the menu and the "15%" was just handwritten,so they can always change the number).

BE AWARE TOURISTS!!! My wife and I were staying across the street, and decided to eat close as we were tired. Two pasta dishes with meatballs (price not advertised), 2 drinks and 1 coffee, 89 Euros! I almost had a heart attack. I should have read the reviews before we went. Excuse is one block from Vatican....that is ridiculous considering food right inside the Vatican is cheaper. Nowhere in the world should a restaurant charge 22 euros for pasta with meatballs unless you are in 5 star dining, which this place is not. You should be ashamed in taking advantage of visitors. A group of Italians sat down for 2 minutes and left after seeing the menu, we should have done the same. Trust me, worth walking a little further.

We came here after several hours spent at the Vatican Museums: we were exhausted and hungry. Since the weather was gorgeous we decided to sit at one of their outdoor tables, narrowly placed on the sidewalk. This place is located close to the exit of the Vatican Museums, and from there you can see the long line of people waiting to get inside. The food though seemed to be a little bit too expensive, which is to be expected because of the proximity to the Vatican. Considering how many more affordable places you can find in town, we decided to have just a beer and move on. On a good note, if you are tired you can sit at one of the outdoor tables and they won't ask you to leave, which is unusual in Italian big cities.
