Everything about this place was incredible. The food was top notch, with service to match. I’d easily say that the service was hands down, the best we’ve had at a sit down establishment while in Rome.
The apps consisted of fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, zucchini balls, and “very spicy” arancini. The spicy arancini was mild by my standards, but didn’t lack flavor. Zucchini balls - I could have ate 653 of them. Wow! Fresh mozz was a creamy, juicy, mouthwatering explosion. The tomatoes could have been a desert themselves. Get it.
Entries were fettuccine Bolognese, seafood pasta, carbonara, and lamb chops. The lamb chops, while looking basic were exploding with flavor. Even the side of potatoes was perfectly salty, with a crunchy texture. The Bolognese was pretty good. I thought it lacked a little bit of flavor in comparison to the rest of the dishes. The seafood pasta was very good, and they were generous with the seafood. The carbonara was arguably the best tied with the lamb entrée.
Then came to desserts. We attacked them so vigorously that I couldn’t even get a picture. Each one was better than the last. We had the chocolate peanut gelato, crème brûlée, Italian cheesecake, and tiramisu. The tiramisu was very good, as was the gelato. For me, the Italian cheesecake and crème brûlée, or the stars of the show.
All in all, this was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I would highly recommend paying them a visit. Extremely accommodating,...
Read moreAlright. We ordered 6 dishes, and almost each one surpassed my expectations. I rarely rate everything 5 stars, but I just had to for this one.
Small restaurant serving simple but hearty, excellent food with an incredible price-quality ratio.
I like giving detailed reviews, especially on good restaurants, so I'll try to describe the 6 dishes we ordered as best as I can.
Fried zucchini balls: Decent, not too heavy and oily but nothing special either.
Carbonara rigatoni: Wow. The sauce was smooth (which is how Carbonara sauce should be), I could taste the egg yolk in it, the bacon bits were irresistible and pasta was of good quality.
Telline spaghetti: A rather generous portion of fresh Telline clams that deliver a nice punch of the ocean with perfectly cooked spaghetti.
Beef tripes in amatriciana sauce: I'm not a big fan of tripes but this was surprisingly good.
Shrimp spaghetti with tomato sauce: Light but intense flavors of the shrimp, accompanied with tomato sauce.
Tiramisu: This was the only one that was slightly below my expectations. It was very creamy and thick, and I would have prefered more coffee and liquor to balance off...
Read moreWe heard so many great things about this restaurant before going to dinner here on our last night in Rome. I wish we would’ve eaten there our first night in Rome because it was one of the best meals we had during our week long stay for the Christmas holiday. I wish we had the opportunity to eat there a few more times. The atmosphere was friendly and very relaxed. Our server was super nice and she was very kind to us as we have little knowledge of the Italian language. We ordered the Lasagna, the American classic pasta and the Tortellini soup. Plus 2 types of bruschetta for the starter. We ended the evening with the chocolate cake and the tiramisu. As a family we all agreed this restaurant meal was the absolute best way to end our holiday trip! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the Vatican area or close by. Absolutely fantastic dining experience for us! Thank you for making our last evening in...
