When we first walked in, this place looked a little more upmarket than the places we had recently had some superb food in.
The first thing that let it down was the annoying pop videos being shown on a large TV screen which was very distracting. The next thing was the lack of menus, we had to scan a barcode but my signal wasn't good. That would explain the free WiFi notices everywhere. My partner managed to access the menu, although I could see it on my phone I couldn't access the translation to English.
The waitress was quick to come over to take our order, but because of the menu problems we weren't ready to order. She brought a bottle of basic tap water which we were later charged for.
We eventually ordered, a pasta dish for my partner, meatballs and baked potatoes for me.
The wine we had ordered was no longer available, we had to choose again.
Food was slow to arrive. When it did, we were also given two pieces of bread in a paper bag. I was surprised when the only waitress came over and squeezed the bag. I guess that was to find out if we had eaten the two slices of bread which we were later charged for.
My partner's pasta was lovely, though not very warm; my meatballs and sauce were cold. I sent them back. The waitress gave me back the dirty fork rather than just providing a clean one.
By the time my meatballs returned, my partner had finished her meal. My dish was placed on the table without so much as an apology, and it had been reheated to such a temperature that I burnt my mouth on the first mouthful. By the time it cooled down enough to eat, I found out that it was okay, but I can make better myself, and my partner was now having to sit and watch me eat.
We made a complaint, and didn't pay for the meatballs, but the meal still cost £74 pounds for one pasta dish, a bottle of average wine, a bottle of water and two slices of inedible bread.
Okay food, lousy service from people who didn't know what a smile was, and vastly overpriced. If I could give it...

I offered to pay full price while I wanted the half portion of meatball because I told them that I did not want to waste. Food loss is a global north issue which I take it seriously. Since I stay in the hotel and no facility to warm them up, I did not want to take away especially it was already after 11pm and homeless people were asleep to give away. I asked politely the exactly same thing at other restaurants, sometimes they could accommodate or sometimes not. But no other restaurant was as rude as this one was. And again, basic ravioli!! Highly recommend to go 2 other places nearby.
Original post: I only had their ravioli (€17) which was little better than average, possibly not worth the price. I didn’t have main course because I didn’t feel like it given the service I was provided although I stayed respectful and friendly until I paid. I don’t recommend.
Service was rude in the way the waiter spoke to me and they aren’t flexible unlike others in the same block. They are the only one so far in the area who charge water. There are so many amazing restaurants in the block such as Cresci and Dai miei and they offer better food with such grace and hospitality. Id highly recommend to go there than this one.
I was actually excited to come here so I was sad and it was...
Read moreDuring our trip to Rome, Ristorante I San Pietrini became the highlight of our culinary experience. Tucked away in a charming neighborhood, this gem offered authentic Italian flavors with a twist, combining traditional Roman dishes with fresh, seasonal ingredients that made each plate unforgettable.
We started with their homemade bruschetta, which was beautifully balanced with ripe tomatoes and fragrant basil. For our main course, we had the cacio e pepe and the osso buco — both dishes cooked to perfection. The pasta was silky, the cheese sauce rich and peppery, while the osso buco was tender and bursting with flavor. Their wine selection was also exceptional, and the staff’s recommendations paired wonderfully with our meal.
The service was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond, making us feel like part of the family and providing insights into each dish. The warm atmosphere, dim lighting, and tasteful decor created a cozy, romantic vibe.
If you’re in Rome, Ristorante I San Pietrini is a must-visit! Whether you’re a foodie or simply someone looking to experience genuine Italian hospitality, this place won’t...
