Moldy Pizza, Blamed on Rain - A Disgusting Experience at Pizza Zizza
Is Zizza Mold in Italian ?????
Let me preface this by saying I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Pizza Zizza was so appalling, I feel compelled to warn others. I dined in with a party of [number] and we ordered [type of pizza]. What arrived at our table was a pizza with visible mold. Yes, mold. Green and white spots littered the crust and some of the toppings.
When we brought this to the attention of our server, instead of an apology or immediate action, we were met with a baffling excuse: "It's been raining, and that can affect things." Rain? Affect mold growth to that extent in the short time it takes to make and serve a pizza? I'm no food scientist, but that explanation is insulting.
Not only did they serve us hazardous food, but they also refused to take any responsibility. There was no offer of a discount, no genuine apology, just a weak attempt to blame the weather. We were eventually offered a replacement pizza, but after seeing what they were willing to serve, we declined and left.
The sheer negligence and lack of concern for customer health displayed by Pizza Zizza is shocking. Blaming the rain for moldy food is not only ridiculous but also demonstrates a complete disregard for basic food safety.
Do not risk your health by dining at this establishment. They clearly have no respect for their customers or the food they serve. I am reporting this incident to the local health department.
This place deserves zero stars. Avoid...
Read moreI love businesses who know who they are and do it with confidence.
The chefs are masters of their craft. After you sit down the sales guy offers you a sampler for each person in your group (after first determining if any are vegetarian or vegan or not of big appetite) and quickly the pizza starts coming out.
I love a chef so confident in his fare that he offers a very limited menu. It saves so much time, not having to read through a long menu, waiting for the picky eater in your group to ask the waiter questions blah blah blah. And it begins the relationship between chef and diner in trust. When the food chef brings out is as good as you hoped that trust only builds.
This chef loves what he does and serves each sample plate with care and panache.
While they've recently expanded in space to the left of the original store, we sat in the tiny original store with only 6 seats where the kitchen is and they told us "where the POWER is".
We had fun. My whole family of 6 loved every bite of pizza. The flavors were some classic some original. The pesto was exceptionally flavorful. The beer was cold.
With this cast of superstars this business would do extremely well in so many cities, certainly in Las Vegas where we live.
I truly hope they bring this high performing business to Vegas, and put it in DTLV. It will...
Read moreTourist beware. This place was not good, I was expecting a little better since I checked the reviews on here. To begin, they don’t have a menu. We then asked the waiter to tell us what we could order, to which he responded by asking if we wanted to see what they had on display inside the restaurant. However, before we could decide he asked if we wanted to try THE SAMPLER, which would include an assortment of pizza slices. We agreed to try it. The tray came with 4 slices and 2 sandwiches. We figured out the sampler is pushed so the restaurant can get rid of old inventory. You could tell the pizza slices were old. The cheese wasn’t even melty and visually, it was not appetizing. They clearly REHEATED everything, but they failed since some of the slices were cold in the center. The sandwich bread was so tough, it scratched the roof of my mouth when I bit into it. AVOID THE SAMPLER AT ALL COSTS. I would suggest for you to order a whole pie instead to...
