We had lunch at this beautiful place after our tour at Vatican museum. Despite they were closed ( in between lunch and dinner time which a common practice in many restaurants in Rome), we got our last chance and were seated outside. The outside tables are nice with a tent and have shade. The food was cooked very fast - ordered pomodoro pasta with tomatoes and basil. My husband ordered pizza prosciutto. The prices are very reasonable in comparison to other places. Pizza was 10€ and pasta also 10€. These are rather local prices which is very good if you are cautious about your budget during your travelling time. The service is amazing! The lady waitress is the best, very lively, funny and accommodating - made compliments about my outfit and told my husband he is lucky to have a beautiful woman next to him) The size of soft drinks was also shocking - can Coca Cola was 500ml while everywhere else is either 250 or 330ml. Really nice! Plus thee bring bread with olive oil once you sit down- respect for that. Tourist places and cafes won’t do that, only local places provide bread and olive oil. Overall very nice experience. Food is comparatively way better and has taste than in many other places but still was not our best pasta experience, however totally worth money spent. Thanks a lot!

Awesome! Clearly a very traditional Italian experience as we felt as if we were eating as a guest at the owner's house. The menu is as simple as it gets: three types of pasta sauce (pomodoro, amatriciana or Carbonara) with two types of pasta shapes. The pizzas are just as simple and with a limited range. The prices are very fair (all in single digit!) and the taste is excellent. As if this wasn't enough, out of nowhere the waiter started giving away a few "presents": first it was some chicken (delicious!), then some vegetables (aubergine). Later on they also gave away some dessert and limoncello. No idea if it was because it was near closing time (1630) or maybe because there was a priest having lunch there too... Either way we felt very welcomed and felt as if we were at our grandma's house: they were just happy if we enjoyed the food and left very full. I couldn't recommend this more! No idea why some people have bad experiences. Just go ahead and give this place a try!

This is a great place to stop for lunch if you are nearby visiting the Vatican like we were. Just a block away from the Vatican museum entrance/exit. Food was fantastic and while the vegetarian options were limited they were really tasty. Pasta was cooked perfectly and the staff are super friendly. After you finish and ask for the check they bring you fresh tangerines as a sort of dessert/breath freshener. It's a nice touch and the tangerines were super flavorful. When the table next to us got their tangerines the amazing smell of the fruit began wafting through the restaurant. Everything smells great in there and the pasta is served directly from the pan it was cooked in, so you can transfer it to your own plate and share the food family style. Prices were very reasonable. About $15 euros per entree. They also serve fresh baked bread as a free appetizer.

These guys were awesome! From the moment we came in, there was this super friendly, quintessentially-Italian mother there making us feel welcome. She loved seeing our whole family there, it really seemed. We ordered our food and the freebies started flowing! First, it was some great homemade sausage to snack on with the Italian bread, then the citrus rosemary chicken. Loved it! We had their pizza and some lasagna and rigatoni. Once dinner was cleared, they brought some desserts to us (never ordered, but we felt like we were visiting our Italian family at this point, so we were cool with it). 6 people left that restaurant completely stuffed for only €45! And they had a line of 15 people outside hoping for a table. That's how good they are, even with so many other Italian joints surrounding them.

Adoriamo questo posto. We love this place. This is absolutely not a tourist orientated place even though it is so close to the Vatican museum. Authentic family run restorante and everything they do is the very best. This was our second trip to Roma and our 4th time here, as good as always. Maria takes away our menu and just bring delicious dish after dish finishing with a bottle of lemoncello on the table. We start with a selection of almost all the secondi, pork, sausage, chicken and frangoli in delicious sauce with a bottle of merlot house wine. Then a skillet of the best Amrarciana and cacio e pepe. Dolce, cafe and lemocello along with great atmosphere and lots of love and care from these proud owners Julio and Maria. Grazie millie, a doppo

We came here because it was near the Vatican and well-reviewed. Our expectations were set by the crowd and the convivial mood, and we left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. The food was nothing to write home about (we had carbonara and pork with ham and potatoes) and was definitely not the best we’ve had in Rome. However, this was more than made up for by the friendly staff and the complimentary post-meal digestif (limoncello), oranges, and panettone slices. The prices were below average (€10 for a carbonara), especially for its proximity to the Vatican museum. Would recommend to desperate, hungry families taking a break from a long day visiting the Vatican, but not for those with high expectations for what roman food should be!
