First Visit: A Late Lunch to Remember
Our first visit was a planned late lunch after a tour and they were able to accomadte us as we came 45 mintues early. We began with the Carciofo alla Giudia su Fonduta di Pecorino—a Roman-style fried artichoke served atop a luscious Pecorino cheese fondue. The artichoke’s crispy exterior paired beautifully with the creamy sauce, offering a delightful start to our meal. It remind me of a healthy version of chips and dips.
Next, we indulged in the Polpette “Dillà” con Mortadella e Pistacchio. These veal meatballs, enriched with mortadella and pistachios, were incredibly tender and flavorful. Accompanied by warm focaccia, they were nothing short of divine .
For our main courses, I opted for the classic Carbonara, a dish that showcased the perfect balance of creamy sauce and savory guanciale. My husband chose the Ravioli, which were delicate parcels filled with rich flavors. We concluded our meal with a traditional Tiramisù, its layers of mascarpone and espresso-soaked savoiardi providing a sweet finale. It was so light and perfectly balanced compared to other Tiramisù’s I have tried back home.
Second Visit: Even More to Savor
Unable to resist, we returned the following day for dinner. We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to enjoy the meatballs once more—they were just as delectable as we remembered. We also tried the Parmigiana di Bufala, an eggplant parmigiana stuffed with buffalo mozzarella. Light yet bursting with flavor, it was a delightful addition to our meal.
For the main course, I selected the Costolette d’Agnello con Purea di Patate, featuring succulent lamb chops accompanied by a silky potato purée. The lamb was cooked to perfection, and the purée complemented it wonderfully. My husband chose the Amatriciana, a pasta dish with a robust tomato sauce, guanciale, and Pecorino cheese, offering a hearty and satisfying experience .
Ambiance and Service
Dillà’s cozy and inviting atmosphere, with its urban-inspired decor, creates a perfect setting for both locals and tourists. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent food and wine recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. I would definitely be back here next time...
Read moreHad high hopes of this restaurant after seeing an episode of Bobby & Giada in Italy from the Food Network. Made a reservation weeks in advance. When we arrived, we were greeted promptly and directed to a nice table. The food took a long time to arrive, but that wasn't a problem. We ordered the Arrabiatta and Cacio & Pepe pastas which were both slightly undercooked. I appreciate al dente pasta, but their pasta has a slight crunch, tolerable but not what I would expect from a restaurant in Italy. Our melon and cheese salad was good and fresh. The reason for the one-star review is because when our entrees arrived, my son's medium-rare Filet was severely overcooked(well done). When we asked for it to be remade, our waiter removed the plate and told us it will be remade. Our waiter also forgot to order my other son's steak and he apologized and said he would bring both steaks out together, which wasn't a problem, mistake happen. After about 10 minutes the two steaks were brought out to my sons. To our disappointment, when they both cut into their steaks, they were raw. Not rare, but raw in the middle. My son steak (that our waiter originally forgot to order) decided to send it back as he had lost his appetite. My other son asked our waiter if he could cook his filet up to medium rare. To my surprise, our waiter said that his filet "is" medium rare. I chimed in and said "no, it is not medium rare, it is raw, can you please cook it more?" Begrudgingly, he took the steak back to be cooked more. As I stated before, mistakes happen, but there was no apology or an effort to make anything right. When the steak was brought back out, it was still undercooked, but my son ate it anyways because he was hungry after waiting over an our for his meal. When the waiter dropped off the check, he just said that they are not charging us for the steak that was returned, no apology, nothing! I also ordered glass of wine to enjoy with my meal twice and it was never brought out. Stay clear of this place, there are plenty of other restaurants in the area that will show more appreciation for...
Read moreNot child friendly at all! We were there with our 2 and 4 year old kids who are (as to expect from their age) not keen on restaurant food and are already full after just two bites. We kindly asked whether they can prepare a patty from a burger on the menu without all the other stuff (as the kids would definitely eat nothing from that) but make it not the whole 20 € burger’s price. They refused. So we just ordered plain buttered pasta for them (which they agreed to serve but for a normal pasta dish price from the menu) and we added a slice of ham and a couple of cherry tomatoes that we had on us as we usually carry some snacks for the kids when we are out. Our meal was then rudely interrupted by a waiter (the bearded one) and a waitress (an elderly one) who demanded that we take the food not from the restaurant off the table and that they don’t care if it for our toddlers or not. Needless to say we left totally aghast from this unspeakably unprofessional attitude. We travel a lot with our kids and generally eat out a lot with them. Never ever have we heard any comments not to say such ruthlessly rude ones when we give our kids some additional snacks at a restaurant. On the contrary the staff always tried to make our stay comfortable happily agreeing to go beyond the menu and offering something for our toddlers. But here they don’t seem to have ever met kids in real life. Despicable inhumane and disgraceful They have also blocked my wife’s google account who made her reservation there with her email and she can’t leave a review now. How many other earnest reviews are missing then is...
