I have given 3 stars but for us 3.5 is more accurate and realistic for us.||This hotel is exceptionally clean, the staff are friendly. Its location is brilliant, surrounded by restaurants, bars, cafes, ice cream parlours, designer shops and of course The Spanish steps. It is also in walking distance to The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and if you fancy a leg stretch the Coliseum can be made on foot. ||We stayed in 106. On arrival I made it known to the front staff we were celebrating my wifeâs 50th birthday, it would have been lovely for them to have acknowledged this and maybe left a small bottle of wine or a hand written note anything to make my wife feel âseenâ.||Our room was small, dark, dingy, very practical not at all romantic or bright and airy as seen in the pictures. We couldnât open any windows as it backed on to some stairs and not a pretty sight at all. The bed wasnât particularly very comfortable and actually gave me terrible back pain and the pillows were terribly flat, I had to ask for another one. This room is best suited for a business person that need functionality rather than luxury.||The shower was extremely small and in need of an update |we found the whole room needed some TLC. It was tired. ||We opted for breakfast one morning, expected some table service, a choice of eggs perhaps with a cooked breakfast given itâs an extra charge of ÂŁ12, sadly it was a very small help yourself buffet, scrambled, boiled eggs and bacon which were cold, a panini machine which was used instead of a toaster so the toast was a thin as a pancake, some yogurt, croissants, some cheese and cold meats. Given Italy has a great selection of cheese and meats the options here fell way below par.||NO TEA OR COFFEE station in the room so one morning we had to go to the breakfast room for a hot drink which we took back to our room and we were charged for them on checking out.||2 beers, 2 breakfasts, 2 Teas, 1 water the bill came to approximately ÂŁ45 tax on top we paid a ghastly amount of nearly ÂŁ90.||Whist we are aware Rome is very expensive we came away from this hotel feeling ripped off regardless of how polite the staff were, how clean it was and how...
Read moreFirst, I highly recommend. This is a quaint local hotel nestled along one of the narrow streets 2 blocks from the Spanish Stairs and shopping area. This is NOT a Marriot or Hilton, but a small cozy hotel in the heart of the area. Clean, comfortable, friendly and safe. Hotel staff is at the front desk 24/7. We had a triple room (king and one twin) for 3 people. Room was adequate in size and was appointed nicely. Bathroom was small (two people only if one is in the shower), but efficient. Stocked mini-frig. Bed was very comfortable, linens/towels great and everything was very clean. Small elevator (used mainly with luggage) so stairs were used mostly. Breakfast was provided (we purchased it as a adder to our room charge) on the second floor (an intimate but very adequate area) and provided fruit, yogurt, antipasta, eggs, bacon/ham, breads, croissants (some filled with Nutella!), fruit juices, coffee and tea and all the condiments. They even provided us with some breakfast items at 6:45 two mornings when we had to leave by 7 (the time the breakfast actually starts). As mentioned, the accommodations and amenities were great, but the staff was AWESOME! From the minute I made reservations until the time we left, the staff was as friendly, welcoming, helpful and accommodating as any hotel staff I have every dealt with. Big shout out to Amir, who worked with me from the beginning in getting the correct room for my party, arranging transport from cruise port to the hotel, then to the airport, providing general advice and making dinner reservations at local restaurants (some last minute). The staff also received a package I had sent to the hotel before our arrival, provided general advice and made taxi reservations for us. So, I highly recommend Hotel Piazza di Spagna and will definitely stay there...
Read moreThe location is excellent. Itâs just one street inside from the Spanish Steps, making it incredibly convenient. There are plenty of brand-name shops, restaurants, and souvenir stores nearby. Even at night, the area is lively, and I never felt any concerns about safety. The room was clean and spacious enough, providing a comfortable stay. While most of the photos show double rooms, twin rooms are also available, and you can request one in advance via email. The room I stayed in didnât have a bathtub, but the shower had plenty of hot water, so there were no issues. Breakfast was also good. It starts at 7:30 AM, and while it would have been even better if it started a bit earlier, it was still satisfying. Another highlight was the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and I truly felt well taken care of. I've traveled to various places in Europe, but this stay was particularly memorable. Thank...
