I reviewed Grano in February 2022, after having been impressed by the place on a family trip. We went back to Rome for New Year's and decided to make Grano the place for the New Year's Eve dinner, and it did not disappoint. Ok, we were lucky to be seated inside this time, as there was a large and noisy bachelor party of sorts going on on the restaurant terrace. Grano is not a fancy place, but dishes are well executed and offer very good value for money. Primis are around 15 Eur (and are large enough for a light lunch). Secondi dishes are around 20, starters 10-20 Eur. Some are nicely original, such as the Calamari Croquette with fish stock, or the Shrimp Carpaccio with a light lemon mayonnaise and passion fruit. The wine selection is also great, with some surprisingly good options by the glass (we had a great Malvasia for only 6 Euro a glass). Staff were super friendly again, despite the very busy New Year's Eve night. Overall we found it increasingly difficult to find good restaurants in Rome. There are so many mediocre tourist traps, and often those also get 4 or 5* ratings on Tripadvisor or Google. Grano is an oasis and quite...
Read moreI have been in this restaurant with friends. The place is very welcoming and family friendly. We had a stroller and the owner immediately found a place for us (unlike other places in Rome which are not family friendly). The food is superb, and many recipes use high quality ingredients. The presentation of all our dishes was fantastic too. We had the best tiramisu in Rome and we had delicious fried calamari and linguine. The owner recommend a great wine for use and the meal overall was delicious. One of us is vegetarian, and the restaurant was vegetarian friendly with no problem. We concluded our meal with a real Italian Espresso. The place was very clean and many customers there were obviously returning and local customers. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends because of the food, location and because it is a MUST do...
Read moreAmazing meal to finish off my Italy trip!! My air bnb host suggested this restaurant telling me it is his favourite spot to dine and I am so happy I trusted his recommendation. Wow!! The service was absolutely incredible. The waiters work together to service their guests and they were so friendly with a fun sense of humour. The bread was so fresh and delicious, the eggplant parm was really tasty, the special was oxtail bolognese and it was incredible and the fresh pastry for dessert was TOP NOTCH. It was filled with fresh fruit and decadent custard filling. It was the best version of a flaky. The price was very good and I left extremely full. It was my last night in Rome and I am so thankful for this unforgettable dining experience. Thank you to the friendly servers and talented chef! I will...
