Ristorante Mamma Orso — Restaurant in Rome

This was THE dining experience of my year 2024. We stumbled upon this restaurant entirely by chance, during a stay in Rome. From the menu (an excellent and original mix of flavors, references and simple but effective ideas), to the setting (we felt like guests at a family meal, in a joyful, good-humored atmosphere), to the sound advice, attentive to the customer's sensibilities and wishes, in terms of food and wine, to the interaction with the entire team - everything was superlative. The difference lies in the smallest details - and here, nothing is left to chance or improvisation. A huge thank you to the imaginative and innovative chef, to the wine waiter whose knowledge and kindness I've never seen elsewhere, and to the whole team! You love what you do, and it shows as soon as we set foot in your restaurant. We'll definitely be back!

Cycled along and noticed the vivid and happy atmosphere, came back and made a reservation - and discovered a tradional yet inventive cuisine, masterly thought and made dishes, served by an attentive, caring crew and a passionate chef who is rightly proud of his products. He's not just copying tradition nor inventing fancy new things - he stays tradition true (with excellent, chosen produce) and gives it a personal twist with perfect craftmanship. I cannot believe how lucky it was to discover this restaurant along the road from our hotel. Book if you want to go! They managed to squeeze us in Saturday night. I’m so delighted they did.

The food was astounding. They have a set menu but we selected some dishes with advice (not much fluent English but more than our Italian) and shared them all. Lots of surprises but clearly real Italian food.

The service was a delight. Friendly and even though we knew we only had the table until 9pm they managed to squeeze in dessert and I’m so glad they did!

A treat. Do not miss here. Really. We were so lucky...
