On our day trip to Rome we purchased independent tours just with entry so that we can enjoy at our own pace . Of course we got lost and luckily in the subway we’ve asked for directions to the right person . Amazing Alessandro stopped and helped us find our way by walking with us ( as it was on his way ). Alessandro’s English was perfect as it turned out his husband was American so we took advantage and apart from directions we asked him to recommend us a good authentic place to eat . Turned out we asked the perfect person for that as he said “yes my friend Simona has a restaurant “ we were like ok where is it ? And he walked us there . Restaurant was closed when he showed us but was opening in 2 hrs just enough to finish our visit in the Pantheon . When restaurant open we got there and hoped to be seated as it is a very small restaurant. Simona was amazing and she gave us a table for 2 ( probably saw we were hungry and rained on ). AlI can say is oawwww . From the service to the food everything was just Oaw . My hubby had the Asparagus Truffle Risotto and I had the Carbonara . Just Oaw 🤤🤤. From the starters all the way to desert everything was simply perfectly delicious. If you ever find your self near the Pantheon I can not recommend this place enough , but I advise you to make a reservation first just to avoid disappointment. You will love it , everything from the service to the delicious food will give you an amazing authentic taste of the real Italian cuisine 🫶🫶🫶🫶. Good food is definitely worth...
Read moreThe absolute best experience I’ve had in all my travels to Italy. “Simona The Best” - this is indeed family run and you feel like family from the moment you enter. She is the Capo and you are in her casa and we don’t want to leave. The food was extraordinary. The four pastas of Roma are a never ending search for many of us who visit, but all four here were as good - no, better - than any I’ve found in all my trips. Cacio e Pepe was simply the best I’ve ever had. The Gricia and Carbonara were amazing with perfect guanciale. And the Amatriciana was so rich and tasty. We threw in an incredible plate of gnocchi just to try and they were fantastic as well. Fried artichokes, caprece with bufala, asparagus, fried potatoes all were equally as good. Even the bread to start - especially the one made with cheese - was memorable. And then we had desserts! Wow! Profiteroles were incredible and the star of a group of perfectly made treats. Everything is super fresh and made in house. And the house is a small, charming dining room that again feels like a home. We had great meals this week in Italy and I’ve had fantastic meals in Rome and all over the country, but this was the...
Read moreVery good atmosphere and loved the location of the restaurant. It was very welcoming and warm. We did not have a reservation so we sat outside, which is perfectly fine. After receiving our drinks we ordered our food and waited for 45 minutes or more. Once we got our food it was salty and it was small servings considering the price. One of the workers, I believe the wife of the chef was constantly walking around talking to other customers and people, we asked for the check and it took 15 minutes for her to give it to us. Once she got the cash we saw that she put it aside and started to organize cups and other dishware from boxes. We then informed her that we called an Uber so we needed the change back quickly and she nodded and walked away to talk to some other customers for another five ish minutes. Our Uber then came on the small one way road and we had to walk inside and coax her for the change which she gave with an attitude although we already informed her an Uber was coming so we ended it faster. Overall, me and my family agree that we would not come back unless...
